SOE would have had million$$ in profit had they not 'fixed' SWG back in the pre-WOW days.
Wondering if anyone has heard anything recently about a classic SWG comming out, or a new SWG online game? Apparently EMU's aren't that favorable legally. :( There goes one dream of mine.
Help me keep hope alive!

SWG: Zanthar Brothen (Bloodfin) RIP |
As far as a clasic server coming out SOE has said it is not possible for them to do it. And as far as a new Star Wars mmo comoing out I'd keep an eye on Bioware. They are working on a new MMO but haven't said anything about the story line other than it's a pre-existing IP! A lot of the gossip is that it's from the Knights of the Old Republic games being made into an MMO. So, keep your fingers crossed that it's Star Wars based. |

Not sure on the acronyms...
what is 'pre-existing IP'?
Also what does sandbox refer to?
Thx! |

Sandbox refers to how open-ended a game is. Games (such as first person shooters) are not "sandboxy" as you usually progress through levels in a linear manner and have little choice in what you do (aside from just running around shooting stuff) - MMO's are more of a sandbox because you create a unique character and develop it. But MMO's vary in how much of a sandbox they are. The original SWG was by far the best sandbox ever because instead of being limited to nine classes (professions) you can mix and match among over 30 profs using a 250 skill point system. Even the current SWG is still far more of a sandbox than most other MMO's currently on the market. |
