I think the one reply is about as accurate as you are going to get.

The absolute fastest way to level a trader is to do it as a structures trader and then respec when you hit 90 (if you don't want to do structures).

If resources are an issue.. then its going to just be slow.

There are quite a few posts on the official forums as to the leveling process but.. as the other poster stated.

You either have resources and can level quickly.. or its going to be slow.

(I don't macro but I manually took a structures trader from level 5 to 90 for my GF in part of a day.  I've heard it can be done in just a few hours with macro's.  But it takes a lot of grinding resouces.  If you can make harvesters or afford them.. just drop them on any related junk resources you can find if you just want to level).

"We already have two operating MMOs. We launched a game called Ultima Online in 1997. It's still got hundreds of thousands of subscribers. Then there's Dark Age of Camelot, we also have a situation where we have well over 100,000 subscribers."

-Frank Gibeau of Electronic Arts.

Does it seem odd that UO has more subscribers than the best RvR game on the market?

Ok i see "The perfect macro" all over on the web but never understood what a macro was. I made one for looting quick but how do you make a multiple stage macro?

http://swg.wikia.com/wiki/Macros#Crafting is an example of a working craft macro, though you might have to tweak the pause times a bit to take lag into account in the area/server you are crafting on.

Note that it is perfectly legal to use, as it only automates the clicking next part - you still have to manually add your own materials (so make sure the pause at that stage is long enough for you to add all your mats.. this is where i had to tweak the most)

You'll want 9-10 copies of your crafting tool, which gives just about enough time for the first tool to finish before the macro loops around and tries to use it again on the items with longer craft-times

A tip: name the tools if you made them yourself.. droid tool 1, droid tool 2, etc etc.. if your inventory is full, the item you craft stays inside the tool, and you get a 'failed to craft' message when the macro loops into that tool - so you can easily find the tool, open the menu on it, and you get an "empty tool" type of option if you mouse over the "use tool" option (i think thats what the words were, more or less)

Edit: changed the link to a more adequate macro example

I went from lvl 10 to 90 in about 2 hours some weeks ago. structures was the way and gungan head statues. But with bug bash, they moved the schem for the statues from lvl 36 to lvl 80 or something so i dont know whats the best thing to craft nowdays but im sure the guides on the traders forum back at the soe site is updated

not as easy as it used to be. Gungan Heads can only be crafted above level 82 now, though that's the hardest range to get through as a crafter.

I know i'm a old school player but i have to ask...WHY??

And what if you make master trader? Any idea what you can do and what it takes?, what you need? when you are master?. Thats the things what i see all over forums like this, how can i get max lvl asap?, whats hte best way to grind to max?, how much worth is this or that now?

What happend to exploring your profession, getting to know what it is you can make, making each and every single items to experiment with it and its resources, during this time plenty of time to mine resources, go out and meet people, hunt alittle during the time your have harvesters set up, get to learn how to work with factory's, asuming you want to be master to craft master like stuff means you going to need to understand how these things work, and by grinding your way up you will notice that when you hit master you most likely still be a noob with a master tag. And when reading forums its mostly these type of grinders that complain the most about these games. Patients is the key word, when peole don't have that they will quickly be burned out by a game.

Btw you don't even have to grind Structure, just craft the items you already can make, set up vendors, sell your items, make sure you maintain newb acceseble goods on your vendor as that will creat a good source of steady income as you lvl they aswell lvl and might be in need of items your next lvl can craft. Some "Masters"forget the newb in htegame and ask rediculous prices making the game less accecelbe, and unfortuanly it has to do with greed as that seems to be the drive for some folks in these games. The amount of /tells i have gotten from people asking me how much money i made, or what i earn a day is really unbeleiveble, as i don't speak about such things as they are less importent for me to enjoy the game.

I didn't reply to your post at the time, mainly because it was gone before i could see it.

I took what you said into consideration. I spent almost two months gaining resources by /sample-ing, I then took all those resources and crafted up my next four levels. I learned all the schems i got and started to build them. i didnt go up me next four levels until i could have a newb walk up to me and ask me to craft something and i could have it crafted in 20 seconds. i did this all the way through the levels. As i got to higher lvls i started messing around with vendors and factory's.... can't remember what lvl i got factories but that was a learning experience ill never forget. put the wrong schem in so when i loaded my mats in i just looked for the best mats for each slot. i ended up crafting almost 300 glasses. always checked my schems after that even when i use my hand-held tools. anyways i got used to those and got to lvl 90 about a month before i quit playing the game. In that month i probably got 100 request for different things and built some of the best stuff ive ever built. the best time i had with it was changing my profession to armorsmith or whatever its called and learning all of those schems. then switching back. i learned what you had to say and it probably taught me more then anything else in game. the sad part is that i walked away from all of that, almost a year ago i quit. playing the game thinking about coming back this sum mer and trying it out again. i guess the new weopons crafting system is supposed to be ok.

Thats all i have for my speech.
