I dont know weither this is new or not, but here I go

Simply put 9 npc bounty hunters in every npc city.
3 lvl 50; 3 lvl 70; 3 lvl 90
Whenever a Jedi draws his or her lightsaber within view of an imperial guard: they're put on an automatic list the npc's bounty hunters will attack on sight.
players from 30 to 50 will have the lvl 50 on their tails; players from 50 to 70 the lvl 70 and the lvl 70 to 90 the lvl 90 bounty hunters.
We'll still see loads of Jedi around: but alot less and it will create that fear of being seen that makes the roleplaying so fun.
In any case it would greatly improve things no?

what ya think?

Yo dude you're a genious!
aye, it could work
hmm, dont think so...
...thats just plain stupid

They never should have been in the game period.........

Considering the timeline of the game and the way that having an alpha class like that unbalances everything they would have been better off to leave player jedi out completely. There were plenty of skills and professions to keep the players occupied and happy for many years before the jedi started unlocking and ruined it.

I have said it countless times and will never stop repeating it. They should have left Jedi and Doc buffs out of the game since those 2 elements changed the game from successful to failure in a very short time.

Critical thinking is a desire to seek, patience to doubt, fondness to meditate, slowness to assert, readiness to consider, carefulness to dispose and set in order; and hatred for every kind of imposture.

Agreed,
but turning back now is impossible.
However, this easy to make change would certainely ease the pain for the ones like you and me, but who are still playing, would it not?
The noobs wont care much, and the veterans will enjoy it.
Also, the *Soft* roleplaying players (which is the majority atm) will have a better experience also.

Well now its too late really, although I think they should have used your idea from the start.

The problem for me with jedi has always been the constant indecision the devs had about the jedi.  They told us all sorts of false things about jedi before release, remember how jedis were going to have permadeath?  Then when they got around to actually adding jedi they threw together the holo grind, then they had to modify that grind because it was too easy, then they wanted to change it so they added the village, then they were like oh were gonna expand the jedi stuff, and then they expanded that more, and meanwhile the rest of the game was just flat out ignored.  Then of course we are hit with NGE, with jedis being standard issued to all players...

I never liked the idea of jedis being an uber class, nor them being widely seen.  I think it would have been much smarter to allow all professions to become 'force sensitive', with some minor force powers.  That way people could enjoy the SW lore without breaking it.

So what does it take to get the game SWG to the way it was and the older players to?
I just started an account to see what the fuss is about , I really get the feeling of loss and disappointment though out the community .
So how hard or impossible would it be for SOE to open 1 or 2 servers with the old version I mean they did it with EQ 1+2?
Or if they cant or cant be bothered ,open it for the community like the game Freelancer(forget whos release it was)Im sure the community would have enough programmers and people to generate funds and donations to the cause of bringing back what they grew to love.?
I believe Freelancer is still going well from the dedication of its player based community.
Its just a thought and I have no idea of the implications or costs it would take to achieve them so plz dont grill me.

It could happen, but what about imperial sith?

Also jedi should be able to wear armor to disguise.

Umm... you could be force sensitive and have some force skills and not be a jedi in pre-CU. I personally was a MBH/ MRifleman that was force sensitive and had a few defensive force upgrades to my skills. It made for a very deadly MBH and was a blast too. No force powers.... but force skills, both defensive and offensive mitigation.

Remember Developers... NGEing a Game IS NOT the way to make it cool!

This will never happen either of course, but SOE could admit there wrong and just make things the way they were. Take the jedi from everyone who didn't earn it. Make the game great like it once was.

What 'timeline'? It's a made-up story. The content can be whatever the content makers say it is and George approves it. I played SWG precisely so I could be a Jedi and, through my own hard work and dilligence, earn the status of an alpha profession - so did scores of thousands of others. Just because you didn't have the patience or aptitude or inclination to do so yourself is no reason to penalise me. You have to get it into your head; not all players want to be the same and, if we go the extra mile, then we expect the extra reward that comes with it. Beyond all others it was the 'KILL JEDI NOW' whiners such as yourself who persuaded the idiotic developers to ruin the game.

'They should never have been in the game, period'?

You're no genius are you. Jedi were the precise reason so many people stayed in the game for such a long tiome and invested so much of our time and money in making the pre-cu a success.

The whole idea of SWG was that it was supposed to be imbalanced - just in the same way that the inherent aerodynamic instability of modern fighters is designed in - because it called for new and ingenius solutions, mostly player- led.

But oh no, people like you led the cry; 'Nerf jedi because my Master Chef can't beat them' and so a whole class and whole game was ruined.
