SWG will never grasp the true SW world because of the flaws with the Jedi. Too many Jedi players, this is not realistic of the Star Wars world we all have come to love and expect. Just doesn't seem right to me, but I will admit I didn't give the game a fair shake. Is there a problem as far as the Jedi character goes? |

Well, the amount of jedi wouldn't realy be bad if they actualy had the correct timeline. With the timeline they are set in the jedi have already been erradicated. If they set this between the 2nd and 3rd movie the amount of jedi running around would be fine. Instead of between the 4th and 5th which just doesn't make sense =)

Before Jedi were out, the game was fine. I admit, I have a Pre CU Jedi and he was fun before NGE. I have always thought the BH xp loss and the cloning penalty were needed in the game. I think it kept Jedi in line. I also think SWG should have put a cap on the number of Jedi on each server, or proportion it with the server population to a certain percentage so the Jedi numbers could grow with the population growth. I know that would have called for the "uberness" to stay as they once were, but that is my opinion.

Actually the original pre-9 system worked like a charm until soe messed it up in publish 9. (only thing i would remove was the perma death, everything else was perfect) The old system allowed many many many people to have jedi, but at the same time it seemed like no one had a jedi. you ask why? Because: The lightsaber TEF kept the jedi from being too powerful over normal players, and it kept the jedi from walking around towns with their saber turned on. If they did turn their saber on they would be instantly attacked by many players, and this is good because they are supposed to be in hiding and not walking around cities showing on jedi moves. And this is how the original trilogy was too, jedi were a rare sight, so having it the same way in the game made the jedi sort of mysterious, you didn't know who was a jedi and who wasn't. Jedi had to stay out side of towns if they wanted to fight show off their saber, or do it in a back alley where no npc/player was was watching. (I found roleplaying a jedi is way more fun when you actually have to be in hiding) Not having combat levels also added to the mysteriousness of a jedi. I remember my jedi, and how i was a super low lvl guy with no skills hardly, but i pretended to be a super powerful maximum lvl jedi to a full template rifleman. He didn't even attack. Alpha classes can be in a MMO you just have to do it the right way. |

I agree. I remember one time where a jedi was in the middle of coronet all TEF'd out with 3 people attacking him. I thought I was cool and attacked him with my TKM/melee template...man did I get my ass handed to me. |

I think they should have just left the game they way it was where if a jedi die you died for good, I would have lived with it if i died.

I agree. It seems like there was great promises during the development of SWG in terms of jedi and the number of them. However, all these promises went out the window about a month after release. Just sucks because I thought SWG had potential to be the best game ever, but they never accounted for the fact that the jedi concept is something we SW fans take seriously. They acted like it wasn't that big of a deal to concern themselves with jedi. Jedi is what makes us love SW damnit they should know that. |

Well not only did I like SWG for how unique jedi were, but for the fact that it had the most unique character system, there were no levels. So you never knew what you were up against, but somehow whatever template you had, you always thought you had the edge over the other player. I think the skill point and 32 prof system made SWG really shine.
