And your source for saying that sub numbers go down every time is?

my eyes

You need glasses then. Lets look at the GCW numbers tomorrow if they put them out, they were up over 1,000 for the last time they were reported. Unfortunate that that is the only hard numbers you can get from the game though.

And the Bria poster was slammed on his own galaxie forum and the main general discussion forum, Bria is doing just fine.

So now the GCW stats are good enough to make the case for good population numbers?  I thought only a tiny portion of the population participated...you cannot have it both ways.  They start handing out GCW points like candy and all of a sudden there is a population boom?  Get real.

That's the thing, with battlefields, it's crazy how easy they made it to get gcw points, thus making it look like there's an increase in population.

I simply think some people are well trying to read too much into simple forum conversation.   I see no statements that justify what is basicalyl making a mountain of a molehill.  I see an enthusiastic helpful player saying hey the game is jumping with activity (which it is if you login into the right servers) go see for yourself starsider is awesome populated and so go there and play cause its a busy happening place.    When you try to take phrases out of context you can make anything of them and so people do and it always baffles me to no end why people would be so nit picky about what is basically a happy post by an enthusiastic gamer telling a guy what server to go to.

*watches to see what people try to twist this into because I know now from experience that they will try as they always do*

No-one has twisted anything, here's Badger's direct quote:

"Players report that the server is as busy, if not busier than Pre-CU."

No surprise there. I recently came back and brought a few guild members with me, didn't take us long and we ALL canceled again. You see those same types of propaganda post in other game forums.  Servers are dying or dead and there's a few misleading people like badger that say the population is busy, even though they are offering ft off dead servers. if the population was that good, there would have never been free transfers.

SWG never had more then 300k, at launch on their 2nd month SOE announced 275k and that was then, the one only announcement I saw from SOE subs wise over the years.

Lots of the peeps within the game that i talked to, and those I knew from other games canceled due to lack of vehicles at launch, and others on forums expressed same problem, aside from bugs and watever other issues.

EQ 1 at its hay day had about 500k, and there is no way SWG even got close, and there were forums on that as well, that a game based on famous IP is not even up there with EQ1 subs wise.

The Development roadmap for SWG is very fast, we can get four publishes in the space of three months.  This changes the game considerably in that timeframe and always for the better.

I think it's good that veterans get the chance to try all these out and then decide if they would like to stay or not.

Wow. The last major update was Hoth, and wasnt that November, 2008?  Not to mention Hoth to this day is still buggy and laggy as hell. The battlefields are a complete failure.

Me and a friend stayed qued up for the BF's for 1hr and 20mins. before we decided to say screw it. Most of the time you look at the bf's and there's 4 rebs and 1 imp, and thats on a decent server, chilly. When was the last chapter update? There are only small, bugged updates anymore, nothing worth talking about.

I think Badgersmacker is trying to make bug fixes and minor patches out to be more than what they are.  Its kind of misleading.  Just like Darkfall calling its latest update an "expansion".

OH MY GOD WE'RE SURROUNDED! SEND FOR BACKUP! DIG IN DEFENSIVE POSITIONS! MAN YOUR NECKBEARDS!!!

I'll pre order you SWTOR if you let me put my lightsaber in your sarlaac cave.

Well it's not like Badger is making post with the title claiming anything. When he says these things they're in response to people who know better, and know the history. So he's not selling the game with these claims, by misleading. These claims only come in response to others 3 pages into a thread.

If he were trying to mislead, the first page of the swg forum would be threads with the title "swg more subs now than pre-cu." Big difference IMO. So i cut him some slack with the mis information. Not defending badger, ummax is doing fine at that ( lol @ badger 4 that)...but he's getting a little too much grief with people claiming he's misiforming people. He's just arguing with the regulars. IMO!!!

He's not a shill. he was just on the wrong side way back when. I think he misses the old community too:) But. he seems to do what he thinks is in the best interest for the game, not SOE. Thats a "real" fanboi. Fan of the game, not a developer groupie wanna be. They're the ones who lie, and misinform. They're the ones who defend everything. I say save the grief for them.

But, what do I know.

SWG gets "Game Updates" about once a month, we are currently on Game Update 11 and work is being done on Game Update 12 which will bring new droid craftables and cybertnetics among other things.  I would expect to see this on Test Center soon.

Although these updates do indeed include bug fixes and additional patches after they go live, they do make up a significant chunk of new content and systems in the three month timeframe between veteran trials, as I said, I think it's nice that they let old vets take a look at the new stuff for free.

You know, I never received an email for this offer and I stopped by account back in Feb-March of this year...any reason why I was excluded?

You may have opted out of receiving email updates and offers from soe when you cancelled.

if you check your account status it may show as "pending" which means you should have some free trial time to play.

Maybe you just have not posted enough nasty soe talk for them to grant you with a vet trial?

My account says closed.  I don't know why they would have skipped my account over.  I've been itching to launch it up again for old time's sake.
