This isn't the first time rumors of SOE shutting down a game(s) have came up. 

The rumor is correct, its only wrong in the date...

Somewere in the Future, SOE will shut down SWG and I can even say that Blizzard will shut down WoW 

You don't know what the hell you're talking about.

  I doubt that's true, I have 2 account in SWG my guild members have 3 and 4 each.  We are older players so money is not an issue ,We are having fun in SWG collecting badges, We have a big entertainer event coming to our Cantina  next month Oct 18 2008, comedy act and it's playing all servers that day,We have each have entertainers ,jedi ,bounty hunters, commandos,all level 90 ,we buy all the rare pictures in game and have them displayed in our city.
   If you don't like SWG live , the dead game lives ,and is now on beta in the Emu open source community ,like the private wow servers started.

  I like alot of the new controls and things from the new game over the old ones. I've gotten over losing two years of grinds, my stormtrooper pets and old friends. But yah I was pissed at the time . And I do test the dead game in Emu TC.

Well lucas says swg will be around for a LONG TIME in thier old republic annoucement so epic fail on you doomsayers

 Population problems? Yea some servers on SWG have lack of people but the core servers are VERY healthy populated. 

Don't believe me? Get a trial and log into Starsider, Bria, Bloodfin, Flurry, along with some others.

On the other hand SOE needs to give Gorath free transfers as Gorath is a ghost town.

SWG isn't perfect but it's the best MMO out there. No other MMO gives such a variaty. The fact it has both space, and ground games gives you 2 games for 1. NGE has been greatly improved since it was first launched. The game has many elements I always liked from pre NGE. 

Simply I still have fun in SWG and that is what matters to me. Other MMOs bore me, but SWG keeps pulling me back in. The community is still overall great. Lets just hope SOE don't shoot themselves in the foot again.

Wow, well considering this thread is from over a year ago...

The thread was started in December, not a whole year ago and with the recent events regarding Matrix Online being shut down it's actually well worth digging out.

It's just a question of time, when SWG and Planetside will follow. But I wouldn't be surprised, if SWG and Planetside get shutdown until the end of 2009 aswell.

This guy posted this rumor on 03/11/08. This has been a long week apparently.

my weeks are about a year long also when i'm at work....this is old news, SOE already pulled the plug on MxO and will probably pull it on SWG shortly after their new game comes out sometime next year....

Maybe ... maybe not. It's all a guess. The internet might collapse in a year.
