How in the hell is the LFG system  a small step to help the Kauri community other than to delay a real solution decision?

Just more $OE BS.  As for other MMO's coming out AoC may not be the deathblow but it certainly adds to it towards sunset of the SWG title.

You can implement all the fancy schmancy tools you want but unless you a.  Bring in new players or b. move players to more populated servers you are just delay mode milking what subs you have.

More people are leaving than coming in.  They are NOT targeting any new players but only targeting former players which is not working.

wow

I knew things were bad because I went back 2 months ago to take a peek. However I play on chilastria (Obraik's server) and there you'll see roughly 75 players on a weekend pvping at least.

Things have gotta be bad when you know all the remaining players for an entire server.

My question is this, why are you still playing ? I love star wars as much as the next guy but cmon this game is just awful.

  • The graphics are seriously outdated
  • the bugs are terrible
  • it lags even on a $5,000 system
  • quests are broken
  • most crafting is pointless
  • the economy is ruined cause of the lack of a credit sink and no decay
  • The landscape is literally completely covered by old abandoned houses
  • there are more players in Toontown than in SWG
  • No collision detection
  • no chance to ever see an expansion

You do realize that by continuing to pay for SWG, your probably slowing down the opportunity for another Star Wars MMO to take its place ?

This isn't something the vets made up.

If you say so..

as a vet I say otherwise lol but hey its your dime :)

Issues...

By the way, you're not a vet.  Playing the NGE doesn't count.

Umm maybe in your world I'm not a vet but I have been playing this game since August of 2003.  I would have played it at release except my graphics card blew up and I had to find a new one.  I think that qualifies me as a vet AND present player unlike many who dont play the game now except possibly to login and spend 10 minutes looking for that one candid moment.

I was the second master combat medic on my server before they became flavour of the month.    I was one of the ones who showed people what a pain in the rear mind poisons were before anyone even knew what to do with MCM's.

I can 100% guarantee you that I'm a vet but many of the complaints that people had in the past and ahve in the present I tend to ignore manly because I'm too busy playing the game.   Unlike others around here who can'tlet go of the past  and can't move forward .

I survived walking everywhere and doing jabba's legacy quest when you had to walk to wayfar and there was no shuttles

I survived the introduction of player cities and vehicles

I survived the bugs that came at release with regards to the rebel/imp war and the fact that almost every single proff didn't work

I survived the CU and The NGE

I still play and have fun..

Despite everyones laments SWG still survives and has lived through many changes both good and bad.  It will survive you too!

what players like you will never understand it this...

It does NOT matter if the game is good or bad now

It does Not matter if your having fun or not

All that matters is this...

SOE took subscription fees and used that money to develop an entirely NEW game. One that SOE publicly admitted wasnt designed for them. Thats like taking my money for a car I want and building a truck instead and expecting me to accept it.

Thats known as stealing my friend.

SOE broke the cardinal rule of MMO's, NEVER CHANGE THE CORE GAMEPLAY.

MMO's are about trust. I pay money and I trust that the developer will properly use that money to fix bugs and add content to that same game. I spend time playing my avatar because once again I trust that the gameplay core will remain the same. Otherwise why would I bother investing time and money into something that can overnight change ? I wouldnt.

SOE violated this trust, this cardinal rule. Anyone foolish enough to pay SOE for violating this trust deserves this crappy game with no players and lots of bugs.

Shame on anyone still playing this game

I would have no problem with a developer changing a game's core gameplay assuming it's what the playerbase wants. In SWG's case SOE changed the core gameplay knowing that it would drive off most of their players but hoping that they would attract millions of people who were playing WoW.

The cardinal rule of mmorpgs should be don't screw over your existing players in the hope of replacing them with more players. Reward the people who stick with you and grow your existing playerbase.
