Is it worth renewing the subscription or can we somehow do a 14 day trial without having the download the game?

Log into your Station account and check the subscription. Odds are it will say "Pending, will close when stacked time is expended" or some such. This is a trial for closed veteran accounts, opening them until the end of May. It has the typical limitations of a trial: no posting on the official forums (not even the newbie section, unlike the EverQuest 2 trials), and a limit on how much you can talk in Spatial (no limit on /tells). And some others that slip my mind at the moment.
