Looks more like they are going to string up Badgerbanger by the posts Ive seen in there.... The game is getting better my foot..... |

| So Say We All.... William Adama For the number of times that SOE has destroyed the game I loved, even after it was very clear it was not what the majority wanted, I feel that they should start making donations to us- Paradox (SWG) |

Here is the analogy: A sinking ship. Said ship has a massive gash in its hull. So what does the Captain do to fix it? He slaps on some paint. SWG will NEVER see a population increase unless the core problems are addressed, and that isn't going to happen. If LucasFilm or SOE had ANY integrity they would pull the plug on this monstrosity now, before the IP takes any more of a dent than it already has. |

SoE fails logic, you can't LFG when there is no one to group with to begin with. So the 50 guys other than Obraik that play NGE are mad now? Wow that only took 2 years. |

Originally posted by dethgar Well I like to stay away from debating and targeting other posters (at least today har har). But.. no matter what game or company this was. People were asking for server mergers. At least for the smaller servers. Or free transfers, after all its not the people playing that screwed the game up. Why pay $50 to lose a bunch of your stuff and move to another server. Regardless this was proposed as a "fix". That was going to magicly help those still playing. Hell even I could see (yes my light bulb is half burnt out) that given a LFG tool to people on a dead server.. is just going to tell them what they already know. Why even waste development time on a LFG tool.. it wasn't the "fix" that was needed. Just from the view point of people do try to play this game or still enjoy it. They needed to offer free transfers or mergers for some servers. Or open entirely new servers and merge various ones into the new server. Or hell even steal the cluster idea from DAoC so that everyone even gets to keep their name and just has a server tag on the end. I don't like the current game but I can definitely have the view point that for those playing.. this was never going to fix anything.

| "We already have two operating MMOs. We launched a game called Ultima Online in 1997. It's still got hundreds of thousands of subscribers. Then there's Dark Age of Camelot, we also have a situation where we have well over 100,000 subscribers." -Frank Gibeau of Electronic Arts. Does it seem odd that UO has more subscribers than the best RvR game on the market? |

What people don't seem to realise is that it's the first step in helping those on the low population servers. As has been said hundreds of times now, it's best to start with the less drastic solutions first and then work up to those more drastic solutions. Whether the LFG system helps the low pop-servers or not, an LFG system is still something that the game has needed for years now. |

Originally posted by ObraikWhat you don't seem to realize is that the situation is waaaaaaay beyond small, less drastic solutions. According to players on Kauri there are only about 35 people who log on to that server on a regular basis. The situation at this point is dire and throwing band-aids at the problem isn't going to help. It's just an insult to those players who still subscribe to the game.
Based on that thread they are finally starting to understand that maybe they shouldn't be subscribing. |

There are people on the servers that don't want a server merge, they either enjoy the lower pops or they don't want to lose what they've established over the years. Their opinion is just as important as those that post on the forums. |

Originally posted by Obraik Honestly the only people I've seen who are against server merges are "mayors" who are camping abandoned cities with a shuttleport. They know they don't have enough citizens to recreate their city on a new server so they run to the forums to scream bloody murder. Other than that small group I don't see a real argument against merging the servers. |

I just KNEW Obraik would be here to defend this... LMAO. There is NOTHING that could be done to screw up this game that Obraik would not defend. Sure, it's a nice little tool. For one, we won't need to argue server pops anymore, we'll know exactly how dead they are, though I'm sure SOE will try to find a way to boost the population levels somehow, even if it means using Bots or GM toons set to AFK all over the place. But Obraik will never get it because he works for SOE. It is his job to come here and viral market. So I do understand his position... Obraik, the ONLY chance this game had was a two years ago to rollback. That was it, that was all. They stuck the course with the NGE and now the game = /MISERABLE FAIL. All that is left are the DIE HARD Star Wars fans, who will play any game, and I mean literally ANY game that has a Star Wars skin to it. Pre-CU/NGE, I don't care. SWG as it stands today, is one of the worst online experiences a paying consumer can have. The mere fact they are still charging for server transfers is an insult. AoC/WAR will be devestating to what little playerbase SWG has left. When Fallen Earth hits the shelves, the WoW expansion, and when the EVE expansion goes online... /GAME OVER |
