wow interesting video and amazing work. as if people make a 3d model just to make a good 2d image. its very impressive tech wise but kind of makes me thinks you just need to practise drawing perspective  ;p

Okay nice tutorial but not what I expect to see on this site really. The fact that they made this makes me think SOE is putting some deadline on stupid things like hype material and pushing out the game seems more the focus than getting the gameplay to be fun. That is SOE for you though :( SOE = clueless

@freejackmack What are you going on about. You need to unplug from X files now and then. It's a just a video showing how they make assets. This asset being the Sky Lance Weapon. There is nothing more and nothing less going on here.

@ xr00t3dx  : I hope your right but I am haveing trouble thinking of a good game that SOE developed and then did not screw up with some bone head idea from corprate like "you need to be done at this date weather it is good or not cause we are shipping it".  Or we need to make this game more like WoW.

That is corparate though, full of over educated underexpirienced bigshots who have no idea what their business actually involves.

Why would you run a video game company if you don't play them and then expect to succeed?

Is the game fun? Does it look cool? If yes then explain that; not how you put a turret together in Maya. There are like a 1000 videos on youtube about how to do that.

That was amazing. Before he added the textures I was like, "oh wow that looks great." Then he added them and I was blown away. Then he added the lighting effects and I passed out. This is probably the first time I've ever really appreciated the detail work that goes into making a game. Excellent video
