i'm a bit late to reply but i just reply for informatioin on anyone who cares reading.
i played up to near max lvl. at the start its good and has story and quests.
the game is not about grinding the same monster up to max lvl and its fairly fast lvling to max .
but when you go past lvl 30 . the game literaly becomes crap. they copy old map and change the light making it "night" version of the same low lvl maps, call it new areas . recolor every monster even field bosses and thats your new high lvl monsters.
real good drops is from pvp bosses in free pvp areas . you cant touch them if you are not in those few 3-4 best guilds.
i myself quit. not worth playing . its boring and owned by whoever pays alot in mall and joins the biggest guilds. the big people can one hit you with +10 epic eqp . whereas if you dont join their guilds to hunt the big bosses . you get to not even move in pvp.
thats it . just a nice thing at start then goes crappy as it favors those who spend alot .literally alot on mall. mind you i spent a bit on mall too . just not my whole life savings xD.
overall a good game if you just wanna pick in and play up to 30. not good enough to stay in

I'm going to essentially agree with the other poster. The game is good up until lvl 30, when you do your first job change, though even in the late twenties you'll get a small preview of what's to come because you run out of quests so are stuck doing the same dailies and the ONE repeatable over and over. If you have a good crew or guild and do the dungeon dailies, it's not so bad, but the Iris community is not friendly at all, which is one of my complaints about the game. It's difficult to find a party, sometimes even when you're in an active guild.
The PvP consists of either arenas or PK maps, which are owned by the top guild, as the other poster says. If you're not willing to spend cash in the item mall to enhance your gear, you're going to be pwned in PvP, especially at the higher levels. Of course, if you're patient and don't mind grinding (a LOT) for gold, you'll be able to find a lot of good equipment in the auction house, but not the epics. At least, I don't recall ever seeing one there.
It's possible to play without going into the PK maps (arenas are fine even if you don't have great gear), but you're missing out on a big part of the game then.
After 35-36, leveling slows down unless you're doing the repeatable dungeon quests every day. You're out of quests, so you can only do the dailies and buy "wanted papers," which don't give great exp but at least it's something. After 40 you'll get some quests again, but they don't last too long.
As for crafting, there isn't any.
That said, I played Iris for quite a while and still log in every so often. You can PvE without using the cash shop and even do the quests in the PK maps, but sometimes you'll be killed a lot, which gets frustrating. Forget about the bosses in the PK maps unless you're in essentially one guild, which hunts them non-stop, it seems. Also, you'll be hard pressed to find a party to kill the elite world bosses, which are also camped by bored high level players. (That might not be happening as much right now, due to the new content just released.)
It's free, so you should give it a try. There are some who love it, of course, but many of the people on my friends list are never on anymore. Quitting around lvl 35 isn't uncommon.

Sounds like another gem in the Gpotato stable of games. Now where have I heard all this before, oh right, in just about every gpotato hosted game.
