Only the packages if a person is carrying one. Though with the amount of safe zones they have introduced it's getting rarer and rarer people to take risks to carry packages further distances and just make more runs inside the safe zones.

I can believe what im hearing.  What have MMO players become?  Are people beyond being pleased with anything anymore???

Im not going to play cause i might get rained on?   my crops just dont convert to gold?  I could die??  I might go to prison is i kill someone?  I might get ganked?  I have to do quests??  The game is to big!  The game is to small!  I dont like the trial system!  I dont like that someone could steal my stuff!  If i steal someones shit i could go to jail?!?!?!  If i neglect my crops and animals they could die???!

Ok some stuff was silly but WTF really?  What a pile of crybabies!!  If you see something thats a deal breaker, sorry, drive on soldier.  There will be something out there for you.  I could see where even i may say this is way to time consuming but thats fine, it will be perfect for the other guy.

Might want to /wave a couple hundred thousand times to all the people who don't buy the game. And when the game dies cause lack of interest and money, I'll /wave to you and the game.

You just took the words from my mouth! Is exactly this what i think when reading much posts in this forum.

Seens that the damage caused by WoW in the mmo genre and player mentality is far worse than in my worst nightmares.

Well actually the problem is that this game got called  a sandbox game, a AAA sandbox game.

The problem with that is those of us that really want a good AAA sandbox game are kind of split on what that means.

  • PvP faction based sandbox
  • PvE heavy optional PvP at most sandbox
  • FFA PvP every where all the time sandbox

and probably some other options too.  So a lot of us where going to be disappointed with whatever kind of sandbox the game was.  So far AFAIK this is the only AAA sandbox that has emerged from the fog.  EQnext may be the next to emerge but we will have to wait and see.

So to those that like this flavour of sandbox I hope you have fun, the rest of us have had our expectations and hopes crushed. So while driving on is an option the lack of a destination makes for a degree of bitterness.

Playing the FFXIV 2.0 Demo

2/22/13 10:38:31 AM#28
Of course this game isnt for someone who can only afford an hour at a time to play. Its an in-depth world with a lot of things going on. Something you never see in a STATIC mmo.

Any graphical, audio, or gameplay restrictions not seen in other mmos but found in FFXIV can be blamed on one thing.

Well it's not for the hardcore games either for sure. It's something in the middle - that sells.

MMORPGs are no longer about the mass multi-user anymore *sadly*

World of goats: Because goats and cows give back so much money when selling milk to the vendor EVERYBODY has goats or cows. The game has become world of goats in housing areas. I assume they're going to nerf this at some point, but I am starting to hate looking at fields of goats.

This one really made me laugh. I really hope that milk will be less 'gold' like it's now :p

One thing I missed though... Leveling speed. How's that handled in AA? Will you get a level for every 10 monsters you have killed or is it a 'grind'? I hope the latter because I don't want to play till 'end game' and skip most of the content only because the leveling is too fast. I liked the slow leveling of Lineage II back in the days (C1-5) when it took months to hit even level 40 (halfway) and a year extra to hit cap...

I don't think leveling a char brings anything to the game aa without levels would be the same game to me really. I just want a sandbox game that uo used to be before aos. ;__;

Trion better make sure the game has PvE servers.  There are plenty of PvP themed sandboxes out there, there is more demand for a PvE one than PvP at this point without question.  Luckily, ArcheAge can be both, with PvE and PvP servers.

lol PVE servers.  I predict a lot of unemployed and starving pirates... along with northern player factions who won't accept fights, since they might lose, and have to give up their castles.

Making AA PVE/PVP server based would the worst thing they could do to the game and by altering it so much they could literally destroy their launch/success by doing so.

Placing a home: OK so he's just going to stand there and wait for us to go to work? Why don't we kill him... Oright

Running 'high risk' missions: Sure glad this high risk mission isn't high risk because of no pirates.

Castle seiges: I guess we'll decide who gets this castle via Paper Rock Scissors.

Archeage was made since the ground to have pvp. The amount of features that would be completely useless without pvp is very big.

The in-game society and community experience that Jake Song plans to create would be more hard to achieve too.

Err you mean the couple of thousand tops full loot pvpers you are the .0001 percent of MMO players.   AAA developers will not make games for you.

GAMER 4 LIFE = YOUNG 4 LIFE

I like the pirate stuff, the open world PVP, the housing and sandbox parts too.

The combat and quest system though seem very dated and boring. Also, those graphics look terrible next to tera dn FFXIV, guy said he bought a new graphics card and the screenshots show low amount  of texture and polygons, not much 3d grass/shrubs on floor, etc.

I'll have to get in beta to see more from my own view if I like it or now, but I'm not that excited for this. I think there will be western made MMOs coming out with similar features but just better overall games.

Id suggest visiting an optometrist as the visuals are very good to everyone else.

Lineage II is still alive. Ofc it's a shadow of its former self, but it went through years of unrestricted ffa-pvp. People complained at times, but the majority of people kept playing no matter what.

It has to be done the right way and I still believe that kind of hardcore PvP can be enjoyable for everyone. You just have to do it right and developers today seem to be afraid of actually taking such an approach.

Utterly disappointed by the fact you can start with PvP at lvl 30. No PvP for the first half of the game, lame.

I hope I misread it, but it sounded just like that.
