Patch 6.4 Explodes Onto Servers

Wargaming.net has announced the deployment of the v6.4 patch for World of Tanks. The new patch features the German Löwe tank and new artillery units for Germany, USA, and USSR, as well as two new maps called Prairies and Mountain Pass.

Top Honors Earned at Russian GDC

Wargaming.net has announced that its premier title, World of Tanks, has taken two top honors at the Russian version of the Game Developers' Conference. World of Tanks won the Best Game of 2011 and the Audience Award during the KRI 2011. Wargaming.net also won the Games Industry Award.

Beta Stats Released

Wargaming.net has released some fantastic statistics from the beta phase of World of Tanks. After a year of beta-testing World of Tanks recruited nearly 700,000 players in Europe and North America that took part in 5.6 million battles battering 1.7 billion shells to destroy more than 115 million tanks and artillery units. Concurrent users at one point surpassed the 25,000 mark.

Preorder Specials

Wargaming.net has announced that it is now accepting preorders for World of Tanks. When players preorder the game, they will have access to special offers to purchase in-game gold. If doing so, they will be rewarded with a unique tank in Heavy, Medium or Light, depending on the package purchased.

Wargaming.net has announced that World of Tanks will officially hit retail release on April 12th. The retail launch of the game will be simultaneous in both Europe and North America. The video give players helpful information about the level up system, upgrades options, crew training, finance and economy. Five Classes of French Tanks Revealed

Wargaming.net and the World of Tanks development team have revealed the level trees for the soon-to-be-included five tank French armored fleet. As with other nations' tanks, the French group features light, medium and heavy tanks that involve different play strategies, strengths and weaknesses.

Voice Chat Coming Soon

An agreement between Wargaming.net devs and Vivox to bring hi-def voice chat capabilities to World of Tanks has been announced. The new voice chat will be built into the interface and will allow players to communicate both before a battle while forming teams and during battle.

Half a Million Active Players

Wargaming.net devs have announced that there are now 500,000 worldwide active players in its flagship title, World of Tanks. Over 200,000 players are found in Russia with the balance spread across the rest of the world. Peak concurrent users in the US averages 10,000 with over three hours spent in game.
