You can find your answer here! Also located at the bottom of this site.

Does it meet our requirements?

  1. Make sure that the game isn't already on our list. We know that this sounds simple, but there are a lot of them and sometimes they get overlooked.
  2. The game should have the capability to support at least 500 congruent users on a single server. This is not a reflection of the game's current subscriber count, but rather reflects the capabilities of a game's technology.
  3. The game must include some form of common area where players can interact with one another inside of the persistent game world. This excludes lobby and chat room based interaction. Exceptions are made where logical (such as sports MMOs) that still fit within the spirit of what an MMO is.
  4. The game must make use of persistent characters. This means that you should be able to log in after logging out and find your character as advanced as you left them (or more).
  5. The game must contain some form of advancement.

I'm sorry but based on this, every shooters out there that offers number 4 could be included.

On the same note number 3 is debatable at best.

WoT is not an MMO, unless you consider games like Black OPS and battlefield series MMO's. Martial Empire for example is much more an MMO and yet is not features on this website, there are so many MMO's out tere not listed here that you don't need to add pseudo-fps disguised as tanks. Meanwhile you have games like "Battlestar Reloaded" which were stealing copyrighted assets and doesn't even exists anymore listed on this website. www.mmorpg.com quality is going down, down down

IF you want to use this list for Qualifications then ok...

1. well thats done

2. US Servers can hold upto 75K, while EU Servers 90K

3. At the moment, Granted WoT falls short on this one aside from General chat, Training and Rallie Point rooms.  However would be kinda odd being in a room as your tank just to interact with others.

4.Yep, you advance into stronger tanks as you gain XP/Credits to go down the Tank Tech Tree.  Also the Persistance World part is coming very soon with the Introduction of Clans and it's Persistent Clan Wars map where Hundreds of clans can be fighting over a HoI/EU type province cut up map.

5. again, covered.

Seems to me that it passes, only thing it falls short on is a common room for interacting with your avatar and others.

A persistent world map with 1000s of people in hundreds of clans interacting will make it an MMO. Well, not for you apparently, but there's plenty of elf games to go play, have fun.

THE STRONGEST!!!

1/26/11 10:39:05 AM#8

About a week or two ago WoT devs were boasting that thair game has reached ~75k online. Biggest chat room in histrory! With 80% afk, 10% playing and 10% waiting in queue. Now I know what game is the biggest afk chat room.

p.s. about half of the games should be removed from mmorpg.com due to their MMO chats.

IZI MODO?! Ha-ha-ha!

It's not an mmorgp at all.    I think that badcomapny 2 is closer to an mmorpg then this one.

Why is playboy online listed as an mmo.  Blows your mind, huh?  Go through the entire list on mmorpg.com and laugh as you notice that half of them aren't really mmorpgs, but do something similar as to justify someone at the community management level here to throw open a forum for 'em.

Striving for Silver Stars since Gold is so effeminate.
