Need for Speed World

Need for Speed World is a free-to-play MMO from Electronic Arts based on the long-running Need for Speed franchise. The game has been dubbed an "action-racing" MMO and features powered-up racing in the style of Mario Kart or Blur. NFSW features a robust car customization system, performance package upgrades, level based driver progression and even talent trees. Players can race each other online in a seamless world or participate in single-player races.

Need for Speed World devs have announced that the game now has eclipsed the one million registered user mark. To celebrate, the game is now fully open to all players and devs have an aggressive plan for more features to be added in the coming months. Need for Speed World is being developed by a subsidiary of Electronic Arts called Black Box.

Black Box, part of EA and developers of Need for Speed World, has announced that pre-orders are now being taken and that players can download the client for the debut on July 27th. Those who pre-order will gain access to the game on July 20th.
