It's MMO by definition. Cute for kids and probably fun for a day.  The market is getting younger and younger.  Family.  I'd play it with my nieces for kicks

I wondered the same when I watched this video... since it is aimed for kids maybe there was not much to develop for the game

Okay yeah it was all chidish and stuff but I'm not going to lie... I thought it looked fun! And looked to run smoothly. I'm not going to play it or anything (maybe try it if it's free) but I think it's cool

It looked really fun at first, then it wore off after about a minute lol, and I thought, this is probubly more for kids.  I like that type of world thought that they showed at the begining of the preview, where they had that tall building and it just looked inviting with lots of things to do.

lzanon, I don't understand how this is sad. It's not aimed at your age group. And it's not like whatever age you are was the ONLY group of people "growing up" with Marvel. Since it was founded around 1939, I'm going to guess in saying I doubt you are 60-70 years old. My son is 10 and he is also growing up with this stuff. For the record he looked at this game and said "Meh"= )

This is a great way of Marvel showing it's fans that Disney is not corrupting the franchise  *roll eyes*

Yeah I know probably in development  before the turn over but this just does not sit well with me, let alone a more serious fan worried about Disney getting their grubby hands on it and we lose it forever.

Learn to use the potty with Spiderman!   Captain America teaches you not to cross the street without an adult! *shudders*

Well, people have been wondering what would be the WoW Killer; and I think we have the answer here... though, it may be a little hard for the WoW players at first.  Still, it is a spectacular graphics upgrade in comparison, sounds like it will have all the progression the players want, and those features they did not show - are probably gear!

Now, now, enough sarcasm about our WoW players. :)

Might be alright for kids, I wonder how they handle more than one person wanting to be Spiderman though?

Their business plan better be marketing it as a F2P iphone app, with an item shop.

They could bundel it with Toontown as well.

The only adults that will play this, will be parents and grandparents that are helping a toddler.

People are assuming that this is targetted to kids based on the comics, it's not. This is targetted at kids through the current cartoon "Super Hero Squad"

http://superherosquad.marvel.com/

It looks kinda cute. People shouldn't underestimate these "cute" kid-friendly games, at least from a business standpoint it might be very successful. Wizard 101 has been underestimated, and has been very successful.  As far as how you're going to pay for this, i have no idea. I personally think the old box-on-a-shelf-at-a-store + monthly $15 subscription is a dead concept. Some kind of lesser subscription as a option + micro-transactions is a the way things are going. I personally have no use for the boxes, and don't like the idea of having to make a trip to a store. It's been years since I bought a boxed game. It's a good thing to have a box available for a option for those who don't have access to decent bandwidth to download, but beyond that please.

I think part of it simply comes down to the never having been quite happy with how limited CoX was and is.  Hearing that CO was coming, only to see what they were doing with it and crying on the inside.  DCU is the same.

For the people that played Champions, Marvel Super Heroes, DC Heroes, Heroes Unlimited, GURPS Supers, Villains and Vigilantes, Mutants and Masterminds, or any of the other superhero themed/genre PnP RPG...where is the game?

Are they aiming for 4 year olds?

I thought it looked great up until combat is explained.  I played CoH with parents of 8-10 year olds; thier children could play CoH just fine.  My nephew is 8, he would be bored to tears from clicking left mouse over and over.

They really don't expect much out of children do they?
