- While game retains most of current features like soul gear, its built on entirelly new graphical engine with mor erealistic, diablo-like graphics.
- Travis Baldree and Eric Schaefer of Runic Games (torchlight, torchlight II, torchmmorpg) are part of boi II development team.
- Switch from zoned to persistent world.
- actual diablo-like combat.

- Player Run kingdoms - you can create a Family, a family can grow into a clan and into a state. then an rts-like building elements starts as these player run states build their own towns and realms, war with each other, form alliances, treaties, enslave other states, etc.
- cross server fortress wars between servers, for the sake of occupying the "capital cities" of the continent.
- new more realistic graphical look.
- Most of player complaints(like "how da hell can you breathe and walk underwater) about game design have been answered and thus everything will be redesigned to "make more sense".
- The game will contain quest lines akin to single player rpgs, explaining the story and lore of the game as well as progressing through storyline.

by art direction it seems to imitate diablo III a lot, however Battle of immortals can only benefit from more realistic graphics.

Im more interested in the features tho. some of them (like nation system) sound awesome. way too awesome.

 I would just like to point out that the question as to whether any staff from Runic is working on BOI 2 has been asked several times on the Runic forums, and Volbard has responded several times that no one from Runic has anything to do with BOI 2. Unless things have changed or Volbard just hadn't noticed that Travis and Eric have been missing from the office.

To the game itself, looks interresting. I'm up for trying anything in the hack 'n' slash style. Graphics look almost exactly like D3, animations are a bit stiff though. I'll keep an eye on it, for sure. Some of the features look good.

Apparently the english servers will get it in spring of 2011, only 2 to 3 months after chinese release, which is damn impressive.

- Its not just "expansion" its a complete revamp of the game.
- Alongside the previously announced 3 God Classes(Archer, Sword Mage and Dancer), another FIVE new normal classes will be available, thus possibly the current boi classes won't.

- Game now has got the official name of Empire of Immortals.
- started out as expansion to Boi, bu tit was decided to make into a new game/sequel because of how drastic the changes are. Also strong focus on bringing it to consoles.
- A whole lot more pvp oriented, starting the forementioned family wars, country conquest, and whole new ways of guild combat.
- Nontargeting combat system confirmed with (most likely) usual arpg controls.
- Game will either be f2p or use hourly subscription model where you pay for ammount of hours.
