AFAIK.. no, you can't.
Wrong birdman! You can use both with ps3 easily.

Could you be a little more specific?  You mean I can play a shooter, just by plugging a keyboard into one port, and a mouse into the other?  And the game will know what to do, as far as integrating the input from both ports?

Then why do they make those keyboard/mouse emulator combos for the PS3 that get terrible reviews?

Just because you can use something, doesn't mean you should. If the game is made to be used with the ps3 gamepad, that's probably what will net you the best results.

I don't understand going to PS3; how many Eve players (mature people in general I think) even have a PS3?

And PS4 is coming out in about two years from now..

IT'S.....NOT....TARGETTED....AT....EVE.....PLAYERS. What part of that statement don't you understand?

As for the PS4 issue it's a PSN network game and it's using unreal engine, both of which makes it fairly easy to port to a new platform once it comes out, especially since the PS4 seems to be going with a standard cpu/gpu architecture on the next PS (Cell processor pfffft )

Well I wish them the best of luck then since it isn't targetted at me.  I won't be playing it.

That's right.. the game isn't out yet, it's being created to tie in with EVE (which has had features added constantly since release).. BUT.. since we can't use dropships to put mechs on the planet, the game has completely failed to live up to any potential it had.

Nothing to see here.. move along folks...

My only complaint would be, that playing a shooter on a console is total crap. It just is way better to play with mouse+keyboard instead of a joypad.
I play sports-games on my PS3 or racers, but would never buy a FPS for it.

We'll see how Dust514 plays out, if it launches at all.

You do know that a keyboard and mouse can be connected to a PS3, right? You could even do that for a PS2.

To clarify the mouse/keyboard discussion:

Yes, you can plug them into a PS3.  The thing is, I'm sure the developer has to design the game with mouse/keyboard support.  I doubt that every single game supports mouse/keyboard.

That said, CCP have stated multiple times in articles and in video interviews that DUST 514 -WILL- support mouse/keyboard.  Let's see if we can put this 'excuse-to-hate' to rest permanently.  It seems many people complain about controls, but are totally unaware that they have said several times now that it will support mouse/keyboard as well as PS3 controller.

Never meant it as an excuse to hate, just a concern.  I know that other PS3 shooters have required use of a PS3 controller, which makes them virtually unplayable for me.  I was unaware that it was just a software issue, and games could be made to wortk otherwise.

Thanks for the clarification, though.

When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.

What it should have been is an add on to the main game to bring it ground based combat, instead we get some sort of crappy console shooter.

Waste of valuable resources that could have been better spent on EVE itself. (or WOD even)

It's being designed with KBM support from the start. Not like it's a big deal to include that with a game based on the UT3 engine, after all.

Dust 514 is a awesome concept.   I personally dont like Eve but I am looking foward to Dust and Planetside2.   Its going to be a toss up between the two, but PS2 may win for me because it is on the PC as oppossed to another console shooter.

So much crap, so little quality.
