Monato Esprit was a 3D fantasy MMORPG aimed at younger and more casual gamers. The graphics were cute and manga-inspired, and the game did not involve PvP. Instead, each player would create a character, all of which were of the same race (Archons) but with different characteristics such as gender, hair and eye color, and others such as zodiac signs and season. Gameplay was cooperative, and the storyline concerned the land of Monato Esprit, which was seeing trouble in the form of nightmares plaguing the land after its protective force was poisoned. The Archons banded together to fight the evil in their homeland. There were the usual quests and leveling up via hunting, but Monato Esprit also featured instanced dungeons, which were each individually generated.
Monato Esprit was free to play, and used the MetaTIX virtual currency for its cash shop. MetaTIX was designed to be a virtual currency that works across different games, and Monato Esprit was the first to use it. MetaTIX were used for items such as tickets to exclusive dungeons.
