As far as I know, Tera is noting like a wow clone.

And yeah... giant spiders... kinda "meh" indeed. Is there an area with giant mushrooms somewhere in the game, too? That's another wayyy over-used cliche' of fantasy games.

Overall, this isn't one of the more impressive videos I've seen of this game. They've definitely shown better.
