Quick Overview of Tera from the past closed beta
Disclaimer: The following article is the sole opinion of its author and does not represent in its thoughts or opinions. This is not an official editorial article.

With Teras release date set for May 1st and beta testing under way I was one of many who have already pre ordered the game to get in on the beta testing and bonus pre-order content. The Initial download was around 9gb but once downloaded everything installed and ran smoothly. My first impression of the game was it had amazing graphics and detail. For me graphics are just as importaint as gameplay and TERA was a great balance between the 2.

I am also a big fan of FPS games as well so I was very intrested when I heard about TERA and its True action combat system. My first impressions with the gameplay was very enjoyable. It was not hard at all to pick up on aiming and leading targets. Keeping in mind the range restrictions for attack and destroying npcs. I played Total maybe 10-15 hours, trying out 3 diffrent classes. The game seemed to be very good with a detailed story and also plenty of side quests and hidden events to get lost on. I loved the fact that your gameplay wasn't 100% based on Stats or gear most of it was based on actual skill in the game. For all NPC's that I fought you just needed to learn the attacks and you could dodge and avoid taking any damage.

I also did a fair ammount of dueling even though there was not much pvp in the first closed beta(Next 1 this weekend coming up has a pvp server) I did my fair share of fighting. It was great to see pvp decided on your skill and not gear. It will deffienetly take some time getting used to with out actually having a target selected it can make pvp difficult and an intense battle. You can clearly see what advantages some classes had over others in pvp as far as speed and range. Like I stated before I played 3 classes, Sorc, Berk and Priest . Out of those class's I'm still not sold on any 1 and will probably try 1-2 more before picking 1.The crafting system at first look was incredible compared to other mmos as well. Animations were great and made it clear to the user what was happening. Another plus that I see with this game is that you can actually trade in game subscriptions.

Anyone looking to play the next generation of mmo's I would suggest trying this game out. There are many new and exciting features in this game and at this first look I was just on the tip of the ice berg. I can see other games taking this idea and using it in the feature as it makes the game so much more intresting instead of just click the mouth and hitting hot keys.

Final Score

TERA is an extremely great game for those out there who would like some more action combat features in MMOs. The customer service in En Masse is incredibly great as well. =)

Definitely worth the purchase and I am a very satisfied customer.
