Currently I am in the midst of a week long quarrel with myself that has prevented me from getting past lvl 15 on any class in Tera( I got to 38 on a lancer but I do not want to play him anymore because I play a pvp server and the leveling has slowed to a grinding halt) . I wish to now play a dps that will level quickly.

I started tera 2 weeks ago playing as a lancer, the new weapon, the lance, is something that I had not seen beforeand looked appealing. I found out that the lancer was the only pure tank class in the game and enjoyed leveling untill I hit arond lvl 30. This is when things got alot harder and soloing became nearly impossible. Dungeon ques were nstant but the experience they brought did not ake up for the lack of solo questing exp. So pretty much leveling became a huge grind. So I rerolled a warrior.

The Warrior is supposed to be the hardest class to play but that didn't hold me back. I played warrior to 15 with hopes of being awesome at dps. I got my defensive and offensive stances, and then found out that warriors arent the best class for pvp dps wise seeing as they are soley a tank class with the optional sustained dps, basically an offtank/hybrid dps and I never have liked hybrid classes much.

Now basically the ony thing holding me back from leveing a slayer is the fact that everyone and their mother plays a slayer on my server. I have heard numerous times that slayers are a dime a dozen.

Basically I want a class taht will really enjoy everything about the pvp life and also solo quest well. I want to be valuable to a guild and loved by everyone.

What do?

Honeslty it is quite the quarrel, especially for what you are asking...

Solo'ing with a lancer is tough, their dps is just awful and lack of AoEs makes it slow and tedious. The instant queue at 60 is like a reward lancers can stride for I guess, to keep them motivated. Lancers are also good in PvP.

Warriors dps isn't so great either, but boy are they fun, also pretty decent in PvP, but warriors are really popular, just like the slayer, they are everywhere.

Slayer has high dps and is probably the best class in PvP, also good in PvE, however everyone plays them.

Berserker excels in group PvP but is poor solo PvP, Zerks are a literal hit or miss in PvE, seriously, you better not miss those charged shots. Leveling is quick because zerks can take off half an enemy health in one shot.

Sorceror is quick leveling as they are the highest dps output in the game, especially when you get burst of celerity at level 40 something and glyph it to speed up attack speed by ludacris amounts, they are well rounded in PvP and great in PvE.

Archers are not wanted.

I probably clarified nothing for you and hopefully someone steps in to help you make your decision with more detail..

Alrighty, I am gonna weigh in on this as well...

1. Warriors:  The class has fairly good dps.  Its strength for dps lies in its ability to stick on a boss.  People will find the value even greater in this class once they realize it brings a 15% dps increase to the party that is unique to that one class.  Pretty spiffy stuff.  Right now, the warrior is not solely a tank class, and at level cap can compete with any other class in terms of dps... if the player is good.  On my server and in my guild, warriors are played as much as any other class, sans slayer.

2. Lancers:  Leveling this class is not anywhere close to as slow as most people claim.  So long as you get yourself dungeon weapons and enchant them (it''s really not that expensive), your damage will be just fine.  Some people claim that mobs jumping around at higher levels is a problem, but if you focus on mana crystals and aiming your shield swipe + lunge, the mobs will drop and your downtime will be minimal.

Note that both of the previously mention classes solo BAMs very well.

3. Archers:  This one is tricky.  Right now, a number of people consider them to be fairly overpowered in PvP in the right hands. With their snares and back leaps, they can be hard for a melee to corral.  As far as not being wanted for PvE, it is simply an unfortunate misconception about the class.  At present, they are fairly valuable to a group as a second ranged class if the palyer is good because they can provide good damage and do not compete with sorcs for gear.  One thing to remember about this class is that in the right hands they can be great and competitive.

4. Berserkers:  This is one heck of a hard hitting class.  It has literally the single hardest hitting ability in TERA, known as Thunder Strike.  The caveat with this is that it needs to be charged in order to fully use.  If you charge it for too long, you will begin to take damage from the charge (known as overcharge).  They are, by a landslide, the best AoE in the game.  Their primary AoE ability needs to be charged up in order to reach its maximum potential though.  This class is also known for having the lowest number of abilities in the game, but that oes not make it an easy class.  Due to the need of charging abilities, and the slowness of the class, you need to have perfect timing and know when to ditch an attack to block as as not to die.

5. Sorcerers:  My knowledge is extremely limited on this class.  I am sorry , but I can't help you here.

There is a fellow with the account "Domeran" on youtube that has constructed a guide for each class.  He shows off abilities and explains their strengths and weaknesses.  I would strongly recommend you check them out if you are still unsure.  I hope this bit of information has helped.

Lancer is good group pvp, 1v1 wise just forget it. Unless your extremely skilled most of the time you won;t kill anyone during the duration of a duel. PKing wise goes again lancer are very hard to use and the fight will last god damn forever -.-

If you want good 1v1 class warrior is the best, warrior pwns in 1v1 or pvp in general period. no question asked XD

Slayers are good too but ya so many slayer lol.

Idk archer aren;t wanted i think the community is completely retarded -.- in PvE i take archer over slayer any day. And archers are so deadly in group pvp too.

I would try Zerker or Sorc if you don;t want to be a faceroll slayer.

Zerker gets a lot of flack for failing at 1v1 in pvp. This is just not the case. A zerker in the right hands will destroy anyone in 1v1 PvP. There are just to many zerkers out there that don't know how to time there charges, when to block cancel etc. They try to play like sustained DPS instead of Spike DPS.

Only failings this class really has is PvE at endgame. Not because they underperform, no because Lancers kick them from parties so they can get all the heavy armor equips.

As for Sorc. I have one at 60 and it is my favorite class by far. I do massive damage and can kite like no tommorrow. I am wanted in PvE and PvP. Its easy to play but more difficult to master. To many sorc's rely on Time Gyre---> Mind Blast ---> Fire Blast. We have so much to offer besides that rotation is bewilders to see a Sorc go through it and fail in the follow up.

"In the immediate future, we have this one, and then we’ve got another one that is actually going to be – so we’re going to have, what we want to do, is in January, what we’re targeting to do, this may or may not happen, so you can’t hold me to it. But what we’re targeting to do, is have a fun anniversary to the Ilum shenanigans that happened. An alien race might invade, and they might crash into Ilum and there might be some new activities that happen on the planet." ~Gabe Amatangelo

The thing that really annoys me as a slayer that is a non-issue as a warrior is the way they build abilities...

In essence as a slayer you need to rapidly move from monster to monster or your action bar will have 0 points in it.

If you are soloing you really want to be harvesting stuff for the buffs.

This synergizes well with a warrior who can harvest between monsters.

This synergizes really lousy with a slayer who will start at 0 every time they tap a node.

----

Your warrior is 15th -- warriors do not come into their own until the mid 20s.  I would say give it a chance and stick with the warrior for at least another 11 or so levels before jumping to another class.

archers might not be wanted for pve, but they are very good in pvp against melee.  I started up a archer and saw a few folks dueling in isle of dawn... so i dueled a lvl 7 lancer and lvl 7 slayer and beat them both quite easily ( i was level 5) .  Obviously that is not a good level to compare against what happens at later levels, but i liked the mechanics of the archer for pvp... pve was not so fun though.
