Soloing BAM. Landing the final blow after long minutes of dodging, striking and kiting, to see a rain of items drop on the floor is so rewarding :) |

Depending on your level as a Lancer you really need the +threat crystal, the +threat on the lance, +threat on your shield counter (glyph) and +threat on your autoattack (glyph). The Lancer doesn't just get "tank stance" and you produce threat like a boss, you have to specialize into it a bit. Also you can't just sit there with your shield out, have to deal damage to produce threat, but that's why its so challenging, moving around is difficult, blocking you have to stand still, and then you have to manage your mana (blocking uses mana) AND make sure you keep threat.... Lancers rule :)

The king and the pawn go back to the same box at the end of the day. |

I put breathtaking scenary. I'm a sucker for a lively, beautiful game world. To me, it's one of the absolutes that I HAVE to have in an MMO. My second choice would be BAMS. Having world bosses roaming around that can actually be soloed by a skilled person of the same level is something no other MMO has. This game has the coolest-looking mobs.

Originally posted by Betaguy I'm playing a priest on the PvE server I'm on, and love it. But for the life of me, I can't solo BAMS with him. Have you been able to solo them? And how are you doing it? My main issue is that at level 31, I only have one true ranged attack aside from my basic attack. Everything else is a PBAoE or a conal AoE at short distance. So I'm definitely having issues doing enough damage to kill BAMS while avoiding getting hit. I'd imagine much of it is that I'm just not very good in a solo setting, even though I can heal my balls off in a group setting. Maybe I'm just not skilled enough to do it. |

Couldn't vote, Open World PVP is one of TERA's best features.

Yeah i didn't include pvp because it would have won the poll. I was trying to gather opinions for those on the fence with Tera still to show that there is plenty of things that suck you into this amazing world of Arborea (not just combat)!

I chose BAMs because a healthy amount of overworld group content is something every MMO should have. What's even better is that they are not locked out for solo players either.... you just have to be on the ball with about 10-15 minutes to spare lol. My #1 favorite thing about TERA other than the combat would have to be the ability to progress without being a quest grinder. I have had such a great time leveling "freely" and I am a lot more excited when I get to a new area. Just not worth my time anymore. |

I loved the fact that if you plug in a controller you get a very workable interface and bindings for it. Also, BAMs were kool!

Scenery, character models, armor models, animations. Pretty much everything graphics-wise is the best bang for your performance buck I've ever seen in an mmo. They have a very good engine going that's well optimized. Coming from games like Warhammer, LOTRO, and SWTOR, where there was always a sense that "this does not look good enough for how much strain it's putting on my computer", it's a nice change of pace. |
