The aspect that i really like that both games achieved is the elimination of factions. So tired of them. |

Originally posted by Alders I actually like this too. Sick of the 2 faction stuff that WoW brought around. |

Originally posted by Jimmydean When does keeping eastern audience and western audience ever been alike? Aion fails at keeping west but did a great job keeping east. Tera failing in japan coz its too expansive 35 dollar a month is pretty damn expansive no matter how good a game is. As for Korea its 5th most play mmorpg and 9th most played game. Consider how many mmos korea have thats pretty damn good to me. So get your facts stright, if you don't like Tera you don't like Tera. doesn't make the game bad or fail in any way. To some people its better than GW2 to some its not, personal preference. And still funny how you can make claim about a game no one ever played. i'm look forward to GW2 more than Tera right now. Its going to be a fun launch. |

Originally posted by rexzshadow The difference is Aion was designed for an Eastern Audience, so was successful in their target. TERA is also designed for an Eastern audience, however failed at attracting them. From the research I've done, TERA failed at keeping attention because it takes 2 weeks to hit max level, and then all there is are a few dungeons and empty promises of Raids and Dynamic events "soon". |

Originally posted by Jimmydean ummm Tera wasn't design for eastern audience.... why the hell do you think its lvling speed is so fast? If it was design for eastern audience it be a grind fest like every other korean mmorpg. Obviousl you fail at researching, Tera failed at launch because the game wasn't finished during launch. Cap was 50 and only 2 end game dungeon so everyoen done everything in 2 week. Yes it was their fault but you know what? That was fucking 1 years ago. They already fix that issue, cap is raised to 58 and will be 60 tomorrow. There are 7 end game dungeon with hard mode and adding in 2 more with the current lvl 60 patch. It is currently the 5th most played mmorpg and 9th most played mmo. Tera was meant to be goble to start with, however they jump the gun and started Korea early and ended up more like 1 year of beta testing. Why do you think NA getting lvl 60 at launch? We be on even pace with KTera not lagging behind 6 month. |

No one in these forums has ever said that this game is going to be the next WoW or anything of the like. Nor have most of us even stated that we are going to win a head to head with GW2, which I am glad because they are for the most part carebear wannabe PvPers. Look at Aion and all the bitching and moaning about the rifts because they got ganked oh my I play a PvP game and got ganked not fair!!! Sorry they can all go to GW2 claim to be uber PvPers because they can leave when it gets bad, in this game you better be looking over your shoulder 24/7 and to me that is the draw not instanced PvP sorry.

Originally posted by Jimmydean Warhammer Online problems: 1. Faction based MMO (ORDER vs DESTRUCTION) - TERA is united, hence why we "Declare Outlaw." 2. The PvP / RvR aspect was always focused on the same-opposite realm. No relief, also tied in with faction base style of MMOs...akin to World of Warcraft- Online. - TERA again is not faction based... RP, PvP, PvE are the types of servers. 3. Way-too-much crowd control, CC / Stuns was pretty much 100% of the battles. - TERA has some stuns, but they are not the deciding factors in PvP / PvE. It's purely skill in a FPS style of combat. 4. Lack of class balance, due to each faction having different types of classes..Example: Bright Wizards, Warrior Priests, Shadow priests, Archemages. These classes are OP and some of the most classes played. - Tera class balance is in order and seems to be well developed. No problem here... 5. Lack of population base in certain faction (Order), primarily because the DESTRUCTION faction was just sooo much cooler looking than the "Bald" Order side. - TERA doesn't have that problem, no faction to choose..So yeh 6. Terrible server performance added to this MMOs failure, it boasted large scale battles / support. As soon as you 50+ players come to a single location, the game became unplayable. - TERA has stable / strong servers, I've already seen 200+ players in one area...Pretty amazing with the U3 engine IMO. 7. Too much of a WoW- clone as well.. (Art, faction base, etc) - TERA has a pretty unique art style and persistant world. Nothing to compare here, TERA > Warhammer Online.. 8. War-Hammer Online was way to focused on adding new content, instead of fixing the content that was already released. Adding new classes, new dungeons, new quests to cover up the problems of existing content...seem to be the idea of there Devs...Boy were they wrong! - EM seems to be doing quite well for updating content / customer support, especially for a new company. I don't for-see any problems here for TERA, as of yet.
So tell me, how does War-Hammer Online compare or even come close to TERA. The mechanics / gameplay are of different worlds and not to mention, have completely different companies (EM) managing the success, outcome, updates and content of TERA. So what ever happened to a FAIL MMO like War-Hammer Online, (in your eyes) is the same out-come and end result of what will happen in TERA, because the game was not built around dynamic-events? Hmm.. |

Originally posted by rexzshadow Sorry you're wrong, Blizz is the cheapest mmo developer post expansion on the planet and even they emplemented a new questline system, it's not dynamic no but on many of their 1-60 quests one doesn't have to run back and talk to someone. It seriously can't be that difficult to change this one aspect of the ui to at the very least allow for remote turnins or to allow for quests in a well established area considering the age of this game, to suddenly popup when you enter a zone where the creatures for say a kill questline are located. Those of us who are critiquing this company aren't asking for the impossible just something better that has already existed in other games before and isn't a new concept. IE We aren't asking TERA 's Dev team to completely rewrite their questing system to match that of GW2 but to improve upon the one they are using in a minor way. It's not too hard or too expensive especially when they are doing this port over to bring it to the west. I mean most of the engines used by the games are designed to be customizable and the ones built from ground up can't be that difficult to change the ui on something, not the quest text or the digital references but just the ui. |

Ya.... You know if you ever bother to do any research at all they planned Tera for a global release but because people been waiting too long they release it in Korea with a unfinished game. No its not designed for the east why do you think there is so much westernization put in to it? Fast lvling, open world pvp, political system. All stuff western audience want becuase western audience hates grinding and want solid end game content. I think your the one who is way past delusional or just love making stuff up idk which to be honest. Originally posted by itgrowls Ummm how long has WoW been out compare to Tera? Did WoW come out with the quest it did now? No it was added in as years gone by, you can't compare a game been out for years to a game just coming out. Tera is revamping their lvl 1-40 quest as well. But during development you only have so much money so you can only focus on so many thing. Once game is rolling you have more funding to work with. I never said don't ask them, i know its a fault in the game, but people bash on as it was done on purpose. It was done due to limit resource and they are working to fix it. Like I said its a valid critism but also look on the other side of the coin. |

Here's my problem. All I ever here about with Tera is how good the combat is but from a majority of the people who have beta tested it (myself included), it seems pretty shallow in every other regard. The game is going to need more than unique combat to be a successful game. This is a tough market to be in with lots of options. If you're going to make a game.... you'd better make sure it's great in more than one way. |

Originally posted by Jakard The thing is we have not seen the political system or Guild V Guild wars yet, so yeah it will seem shallow for now, my main issue is the people comparing it to GW2 which no one (besides the PAID press) has even beta tested yet. |
