Here is why... (Got 7 days in my email checked it out.)

1. The UI bug that has been there since launch, not sure if it effects all resolutions, but for those with 19-21 inch monitors after uninstalling/playing the game for the first time you have to spend about 20 minutes fixing your UI to look perfect with scale and stuff. Enmasse was notified of this on launch/beta they still have not fixed months later.

2. Pay 2 Play + Cash Shop,  When I purchased TERA I expected to be getting everything for FREE with my monthly subscription I expected free customizations, recustomization etc. Instead I am told after I buy the game we are going to have a cash shop selling exclusive skins, and charge you $9.99 to change any little detail on your character each time. This drove me away immediately I subbed 1 month after to get the skins and quit.

IF it were additional skins which were added after the games release I would not mind paying for them as long as they are account bound and not like Aion, or GuildWars 2 where I would have to constantly apply to items, or of course expansions I am happy to pay for the artwork and creativity and time it takes for a MMO development team to design. ( As long as I can change and customize as I like with what I already purchased which when I purchased.)

3. Complaint with the BBB.ORG, they threw their stupid TOS in my face saying I agreed, technically I never agreed to any TOS, reguardless of what people might think I registered my account way before the game was ever released was never required to agree, when I purchased my game they gave me an invalid link, so I was never required to review any agreement I knew it was there of course, but they gave the wrong site listed on their retail package manual.

4. Loosing all its customers, Failure to listen... Seriously I asked on the forums many times give these options to consumers I am sure I am not the only one who likes being able to customize and such either, but MINEA the moderator often locks posts whatever they do not like they lock.

What could Enmasse/TERA do different?

1. Fix the UI problems.

2. Give us free recustomization if its a P2P game.

3. add support for Addon mods and skins like Tera Nu** mod and Bikini/Skins.

4. Listen to its consumers do something to prevent Ninja this might have been fixed I dunno I haven't played for a long time but there were a lot of complaints last time I saw not getting fixed for weeks/months.

It is said to say but TERA, as a company is done for. Sure they could make moeny off the subscriptions they currently have and stay open possibly I am sure, however it wil not be a successful MMO, neither will TSW because of their failures at launching the game. Could it boom again absolutely if they can get everyone on board make the right changes give us what we want, and what I want sure I would resub, but if not then the answer is no I am showing enmasse with my wallet and will not be spending another dime might check it out when it goes F2P but beyond  that I am done with TERA. TSW for example on launch did the same thing but worse than enmasse giving people shitty clothing and require people to use the cash shop, the real reason I quit besides the slight loading times and lag in certain areas of the game.

There just is no excuse for such a bad game. I admit that GuildWars 2 is not the perfect game, some of the armor designs in GW2 look like crap, but hey at least the game is FREE, and I can customize for free without spending a dime plus while it is nothing ground breaking they have a lot more servers open than Enmasse did anyways.

It is just really sad to see that both TSW, and TERA two games with good potential go down the drain because of bad choices and bad management. Hopefully future MMO companies see what caused these games to derail and avoid doing what they have done .

Take DarkFall Unholy Wars for example.

I bet that on launch there are a lot of improvements, and changes that make it way better than Most current pvp sandbox MMO's. Time will tell.

i agree with you on everything except the TOS thingy you have said . TOS is written on boxed version you have purchased . logging into the server makes you bound to the agreement .it even shows up when you login for the first time

Nothing wrong with a cash shop. It generates revenue. Besides if you play TERA it is pretty much free. All you need is about 1800-2200 gold which can be made in about a day and buy a chronoscroll from the broker. I just logged on yesterday after not playing for about 2 months now. My account is still active and free until feb 2013 all from chronoscrolls. I never purchased any game time. TERA was fun while it lasted. The combat was great I hope more games adopt that system. The kill quests got old going quest hub to quest hub. Open world PVP was fun though I did enjoy that.

Can't wait for Darkfall Unholy Wars now. But I agree eventually bluehole studios is going to be done for. I know they just merged to one massive pvp server which was needed but eventually that is going to run dry and they will be going f2p so they do not have to close down the servers. The game did horrible in Korea and if it does bad there it will do worst in the USA. I still had fun for what it was worth. The server did seemed packed when I went on yesterday though which is good for those players. Some servers from launch were still recommended which was a bad sign there too.

They needed to add raids and battlegrounds but they waited too damn long to get that in and that really hurt them as well. I am a firm believer that the game devs need to start working backwards from now on and do max level raids/lands/dungeons/battlegrounds first then work thier way to level 1. We spend most of our gaming career at max level it just makes sense. There just wasn't a lot to do at 60 except grind the same dungeons to get gear for 150+ ratings over and over.

Meh, it still has hands down the best combat system out of any game out right now. It makes GW2's combat system look wow-like.

My main reason for not playing atm is that I missed the leveling gravy train. The population sucks while leveling up and I only really play games for group content so I find myself sitting around waiting for a dungeon q to pop. I wish I had maintained with everyone else when the game had just been released, but alas I had finals and such to worry about.

P2p games generate revenue with subscriptions, f2p and b2p generate revenue with cash shops. Its the double dipping that is wrong.

You mean the game thats 2 months away and doesn't have an ounce of gameplay video?  Yeah, good luck with that.

Why are you so stupid and paying for the game in general??

I quit 2 months ago after I made my +12 weapon on JC and had not paid a penny since chronoscrolls came out...

I have enough chronoscrolls for my account to be paid for until 2014.

So techincally this is a F2P game just like GW2 as long as you are willing to play at least 2-4 hours a month.

Regarding cash shop item.. please name one p2p game that doesn't have cash shops.

So pandas are out, even the thickest hype blindfold about gw2 is falling, so now the forum pvp has moved to the tera boards.

I don't know, can we recycle the phrase "you not playing it right" ? You know, a BS reply to a BS post.. apart from UI bug, everything else OP says is unreal like the engine tera runs on. Heck, even the UI bug: I thought it was about the UI killing the game performance (which is indeed been out since launch), not about it's SIZE - lol.

BHS/EmE promised cross server open pvp 1+ year ago, on the north eastern continent: they didn't deliver, not even elaborate on their own press-releases and announcements at PAX 2011 etc. So yeah, best combat system ever but pvp limited to griefing and 1 bg - that is IMO the actual issue, not the "whimsical skin" I would *never* use  not even if they were free (and I'm on a 3month "founders" billing cycle).

MMORPGs are no longer about the mass multi-user anymore *sadly*

I kinda agree with OP on the cash shop. Why on earth add those stuff for a rather high price when it's only a skin? On the other hand, I saw on the AH that they're tradeble (not sure though, I'm still on trial account waiting for the box to come from the US). I'd be more bothered if real 'pay2win' items would be implemented to the cash shop...

About the chronoscrolls... At what level can you start to 'play for free'? I saw a chronoscoll on the AH for 2200gold (buy out) and was wondering how on earth I'd get that much gold (level 15 now :p). If you say it can be done in a day, then I assume on higher levels you can get that money easily..?

The only reason I'm not playing is because I rolled a Mystic for 49 levels and don't feel like going back through old content to try another class that would probably be just as broken or boring. The devs can add a new mount or weapon skins every other week for people to buy, but can't fix a class that's been ruined since launch? Still, I do agree with most of the the OP said.

Yeah I didn't renew my subscription for Tera and no plans to do such where it be chronoscroll or not.

The game just isn't worth playing even the combat gets boring compared to DarkFall.

See in DarkFall you have to worry about ganks how many people are there really, you step around the corner if someone is going to jump you or not.

In Tera its just like BORING! combat itself is very boring after hours of days of farming mobs in the end you achive nothing just farmed a lot.

Tera needs lots of fixes in my eyes before it will be playable or before I will actually play it again myself same with TSW they were both failures at launch over hyped, TERA has some good artwork such as costumes, clothing, etc but its ashame that they have a bad manager that tried to milk cows and drive consumers like me away from the game. Yes it still has potential but without major changes it will do well as F2P maybe but I wont be playing it most likely even if it is FREE 2 Play because I am tired of putting money into F2P games not to get any monies worth out of it just a giant cash sink except for like GuildWars 2, EVE Online, DarkFall.

LOL Pandas?

Panda's are in my eyes stupid especially in games like World OF Warcraft its just lame to go throw in Panda's, why not Neko's iinstead?

RIFT? Donate $1 to save panda's?

Why not just instead of wasting $30 on their game go donate the $30 directly to save panda's?

Panda's need to be saved but not the way these companies do it to make $$$ for themselves, dont forget that after they donate like a million dollars from a million copies I think they can file Tax donations on it.

They kind of do support nude mods, the patcher/launcher doesn't check the files once the client is downloaded.

So you can overwrite them with the nude/clothing mods.

They're not that good though as nobody can edit models yet.

None of these were issues for me and why I quit the game. It was simply too bland and linear. Great GFX but the game play was so typical ThemePark which is sad because it looks soooo good.
