EME has been keeping it more on the hush-hush, but today they opened up a premium cash shop for players that want to buy fluff. If it starts to become pay to win I am gone, but what do you all think about it ? |

Someone beat you to it. There is NO miracle patch. 95% of what you see in beta won't change by launch. Hope is not a stategy. |

P2P + cash shop = rip off. Whether it's P2W or not. |

Originally posted by Kumapon The cash shop is nice so far, but I do agree with you... if EME starts putting pay to win items in there I am unsubbing. Given how well they have been taking community feedback however, I do not see this happening with NA Tera. I hope they add more fluff like costumes and additional skins etc. P.S. I would love if they sold a hearth stone of sorts that teleports you simmilar to how the safe haven scrolls works. Put it on a 15 minute CD and call it a day, I would pick that up. |

I know right ? WTH ? I mean these things let you buy weapons that let you wtpwn in PVP and skip levels in PVE and get better equip than raiders and everything ,
Right ? I mean surely they must do that because no one would really whine and complain about people being able to buy cosmetic items that have zero effect on gameplay. Would they ?

Originally posted by Otakun Sorry cannot agree with you here, not sure why a cash shop that is not P2W is a rip off, it is your choice to purchase the item and it in no way gives anyone an advantage. More games are going this route for some additional income, I think its a great idea as long as it doesn't go p2w. |

Because p2p is supposed to mean equal opportunity. That's how MMOs used to be and it was a foundational principle. Notice how when that went out the window for profits...so did the quality of current MMO offerings? If the conversation turned "Tit-for-Tat", and I've stopped posting, Consider it your win. |

I've never had a problem with cosmetic items as that is a "your choice" thing. If they do put actual pay to win items then that would be an issue. |

Originally posted by Xasapis Thanks I did not know that. I kind of want them to implement the hearth stone idea and remove the safe haven scrolls from the game. Make it a fluff item from the cash shop, I be a ton of people would pick that up if the CD was short enough. I kind of want to make a thread on the official forums to that effect ... maybe tomorrow hmmm. |

Tera fans, GW2 fans hand the cash shop debacle to you! Oh, throw in the subscription fee with it. I'm playing Tera myself, so I'm not a total GW2 Fanboi, but this will be fun to watch! Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not. |

Originally posted by GeezerGamer Well everything in game is obtainable by every player that currently has a sub. And any player can pay extra money to aquire the cosmetic changes. So given that I don't really agree with what you said. However I do agree that more companies are focused on return over quality of the product. |

I know what many people mean. Just the other day ..living in Florida I went to Disney World. I paid full price to enter the park but I'll be damned if they didnt charge me for all the food and beverages as well as a pair of Mickey Mouse ears and a Pluto keychain. Pay to play at Disney World and Cash shop. Bullshit!! |

Got my issues with TERA but this isn't one of them. Weapon skins, big deal. Doesn't add to in-game power, still equal footing. I could understand if TERA was like Dragon Nest where pretty much all equipment looks the same from level 1 to level 50 unless you buy costumes, but TERA doesn't have that issue. Plenty of cool looking things in the game, why you'd want to spend $10 on it I don't know, but no point begruding those who will.
Originally posted by BarCrow I hope you're smart enough to realize what's wrong with the analogy you just made. What TERA's doing isn't a big deal, but that doesn't mean video games should suddenly start breaking your bank by charging you both admission + sub then more for every fun thing there is to do. That's not a path, even those more liberal with cash shops, would want games to take. "Forums aren't for intelligent discussion; they're for blow-hards with unwavering opinions." |
