Was finally able to play yesterday for the first time after receiving my game box from Gamestop and there's something I really don't understand after playing the game for a couple of hours: my graphics are all maxed, every single one of them, and the FPS is constantly ranging from 25 (when people around) to 45 when relatively quiet on screen... I can't seem to push it (and keep it) over 50...

I have an i7 2.7, GTX295 and 6 gigs of RAM DDR3... Where is the problem exactly?? My machine should be ok to easily reach the 50-range even at max details no?

Do you guys see a bottleneck somewhere or is it the game that is poorly optimized? I did noticed that it seems to be very CPU-intensive but it might be just me imagining things...

I haven't heard anyone having issues with FPS. I run an ancient crappy machine and I'm able to run on just-above-minimum settings with relative ease.

I hope you get it figured out - I don't do technical computer stuff but hopefully someone can help you get it resolved.

my laptop has lesser specs than that and runs the game damn near perfect wit shadows set to 2.

You should give your computer a good cleaning. Every year i reformat and reinstall everything. I keep the registry clear, i do not visit suspicious sites, i do not download torrents. I hate to say it and sound cliche, but i think it is your computer because there is no other reason why my laptop runs Tera  better with its lesser specs.

Just want to point out also that my computer was formatted 1 week ago, I'm using the latest nVidia driver and I'm running at 1650x1080 resolution on a 22'' monitor (16:10 ratio). SOmething's really wrong here, I should easily get more FPS...

The 295 gtx is a 5 year old card, it wont run anything as intensive as TERA at max, no chance in hell. Upgrade to a 500 or 600 series card if you want that.

Also if your using a card as old as that, I'm assuming your using a SATA 1 HDD? Consider a SATA 3 SSD aswell if you have the coin as SATA 1 HDD's cant handle the troughput needed for highrez textures because of their sluggish transfer rate.

I have seen someone mention how their GPU was not being utilized fully while playing and their FPS was uncommonly low for their specs. I would suggest heading to TERA answers and searching your GPU model #. if you don't find anything I would get a GPU monitor widget and see if the game is using 99% or close to when you play.

Hopefully you get it figured out, I have a four year old machine with a HD6790 that is stable with great detail. The game is optimized really well and you should be running much better than you are IMO. Good luck!

Just not worth my time anymore.

Yes^

Your attempting to play a video game released in 2012, on a video card that was released in 2008..!

It's raw power is no match for todays technology & you would get more performance out of a $150 card, than yours.

You're not going to be able to run it on flawlessly with the card you have. It should still run it pretty well on medium/high settings though. Unless you want to buy a new card and possibly a new power supply (not sure what you have) I'd just be happy with settings you can get.

What happens when you log off your characters????.....

The GTX 295 card is just over 3 years old, not 5.

The GTX 285 and GTX 295 was reased in 2009.  I run TERA with my GTX 285 at max setting and have no issues.

Yeah, I wouldn't listen to these people telling you its the GPU. The 295 is a beast and one of the top 10 GPU cards you can use according to the linked 6 month old review. It's certainly some reason the game isn't working, but who the hell knows what.
