Originally posted by Deron_BarakWell of course a guild leader would like to be Vanarch. But save the brag rights what's in there to do? You move vendors around the region and other minor things. That's not how you should "control" a region. And since BHS and Enmasse overhyped the political feature like it is some kind of Wonder now people think ther funniest things about this. Very few people know how it really works and many like to dream about it. In Korea it didn't blossom at all. And here in the west the system will be even more limited since one of the biggest decison (making a region pvp free or not) is not available for Vanarchs.

I hated this game in CBT3 (which is the first time I played it). I had no interest. I had totally written it off as another F2P game that was P2P. But after 40 MMO's I decided I'd give it another chance because I was so burnt on everything else and I'm blown away. I'm so addicted, it's like I have an IV with TERA injected right into my veins. I've been loving the combat, I adore my guild and I've just been having a downright BLAST. And even though they're having some technical difficulties at the moment, I sit here and wait patiently with a smile, because I know when it comes up I'll just keep enjoying the hell out of it. |

Originally posted by Ceromus Sorry you had problems playing with friends. I only had that about two time as it put me on overflow. I pretty much ran with the five guys from my guild and it was a blast and I'm sure that will be fixed soon. Need to stress the servers and not flood them. It reminds me nothing of Warhammer and I'm not sure where you guys even get that from. Also I was just following my story quest and just happen to run into the DE's. The whole point of the game is to go out find things to do and not be stuck in a stagnant world which they did and did very well. The only time I was not moving was when I was crafting. The way they have it set up is perfect, it keeps you moving forword. I was so glad I didn't have to run back to npc's IT WAS GREAT. Try playing the game the way it was ment to be played and stop trying to compair it to games that hold no bearing on GW2.
Also GW2 is just a great game. Thats it, I like what they have done. Is it life changing no. Is it a diffrent way to play a mmo YES |

Originally posted by otacu You make stuff to do after becoming a Vanarch. Especially if you can make your province PvP free for all and that province is a crucial travel point.....or contains the most of a particular resource...etc. Then charge road tariffs or paid writs that grant permission to travel throughout your lands. Yeah..you may not be touched by the Vanarchs guild...but others have no such restrictions ( of course the Vanarch may place a bounty on them for breaking his rule or send some men to deal with the bandits). One could always attain a guild guarded escort on your journey or to gather. For a small fee or percentage of your crafted products of course... If it's done even half right it would be an interesting mechanic. It's the "being done" thing that I'm waiting to see. All of which is also dependent on sustaining a decent population. |

Originally posted by Kuppa The first part about the zone instances? GW 2 zones hold a limited amount of people the number can't be very high because there were many different "overflow servers" (fancy way to avoid saying instances) and as I ran around them I did not encounter many players my guess was less than 100. Anyway so you are stuck in these instances of the zone and you can't play with your friends if they end up in a different instance (overflow). Imagine guild wars 1 but instead of the outdoor zones being just you or a prebuilt party it holds more players. I spent at least 95% of my time in game (when i wasnt pvping) in an overflow server. Even if you end up in same area as a friend you can still get zoned into another as you switch areas. The second part there is no direction because there is no quests telling you where to go aside from the story quests. You just run around for the most part. |

GW2 has no monthly payment. I just spent $60 on GW2, and now would have to spend more money, and a monthly payment, on Tera. I kind of wish I hadn't purchased GW2 now though. My friends don't like it even though I do.

Originally posted by Ceromus Saying that shoving people into instances making them unable to play together is basically a false statement. This happened because its was a lot of people getting in at the same time. Just like in any other game's opening week you will have server queues. You don't see me saying Tera does not allow people to play together because they have these "servers" that don't allow people to play at all(cause there isn't even such a thing as an overflow server to wait while in queue). And they already said it wasn't working as intended in beta since it was not moving adding you to the queue all the time and they are supposed to keep parties together but it wasn't, lets call this beta Ok, I see you need to be directed, not going to judge. But just so you don't get lost there are scouts that mark events in your map. Basically the map is GW2's version of the quest log. Still its not a game for you, if you need that much direction stick to the standard quest log games. "J key" FTW! lol |

Originally posted by Kuppa Yes that can really be compared...waiting in queue for 30mins then being able to play as long as you want with ur friends vs being online for hours and rarely getting to play with your friends? They said multiple times true mmorpg. its not a true mmorpg is you can only fit a hundred people in a zone assuming its even that many. Yes, I played UO and AC because i needed to be directed. I don't need direction I am simply not a carebear like yourself that enjoys running around exploring the lands. If I can level up quickly doing objectives while being shown the world then super I prefer it. |

I actually thought Tera would be a decent game, but the game is an absolute snorefest. Same old game as every other with a new paint job. They need to raise the difficulty level on the game exponentially, it's just not challenging unless you aggro multiple mobs. And the combat is soooooo slooooooow, do they need to give a 3 second tell to alert people they should dodge? It's unfortunate that the one part of the game that they are suppose to have improved so much, is really the biggest failure. |

Originally posted by Terrorizor This sounds like it came from someone who played til lvl 11. The game ramps up quite substantially fighting massive monsters with groups of people both in dungeons and for world quests/BAM hunting. The group combat is simply unmatched. Sorry you didn't give it a chance though. |
