The game may be in a better state now but that does not mean its a success.

And i don't see how being the third most played mmorpg and the 8th played game in korea is bombing.

And even if it was bombing i don't see how this can influence western success, since the status of a game in Korean never meant anything for the western market.

But whatever makes you happy.

With Tera, you aim your attacks, do evasive rolls to dodge devastating blows, block attacks, and perform combinations to slay your foes. This is a new age MMO, and the developers have really brought the full package to our doorsteps. I've played all the main fantasy MMOs out, most to the maximum levels with tons of alts, and I can tell you, this game is going to crush them all. I believe this game is underhyped and not nearly enough people are taking this game seriously because of guild wars 2. But let me tell you, this game is phenominal and I will be playing it again this Saturday! Awesome game. Check it out, try it out.

Seeing that it bombed in Korea and in Japan, I do not think Tera deserves to be called the next big thing.

The type of combat has been done before with vindicus and dragons nest. prob a few other games have done it also.

Also the title has been used so much it just makes things worse for tera.

vindictus and dragon crap are not mmos. if ppl consider these crap mmo then i feel sry for

anw tera----->vindictus and dragon crap with eaze and style

nobody talks about these 2 craps u mention anymore why???? i gues these games  sucks balls

Define what "next big thing" is.

I don't think TERA is "the next big thing."  I'm no longer sure I think any game is "the next big thing."  Having been let down by SW:TOR and now GW2, that really only leaves TSW and ArchAge.  Given Funcom's track record, TSW is a longshot, and I feel that ArchAge is too much of a niche game to have mass appeal.  With that said,  at this point I personally think TERA is the best out of all the recently released MMORPGs to have come out in the past year.

Don't see the point in playing a game, where everyone looks like a porn star

I wouldn't call TERA the next big thing. Actually i wouldn't call any MMO the next big thing anymore. I played the first few CBTs of this game and i hated it. It just felt so bland and grindy and i just couldn't bring myself to play it, no matter how pretty. Me and my fiance just shook our heads and couldn't believe how boring it felt. Now fast forward to headstart. I still pre-ordered the game from gamestop (though cancelled it) and my account still shows that i pre-ordered, so i decided "why not i'll do it again." And i was just amazed at how much fun i had. Just a few months ago i would tell people it was nothing special, but now sitting down and playing all weekend, i had a blast. The combat system is fun, getting a BAM down half way by yourself just makes you feel like a bad-ass all around until it squishes your head in because you got careless. Hell, i even tried out GW2 on my fiances account and i got bored with that (still will get GW2 though, just when its on the cheap).

Just like everyone here is saying, the game is not for everyone. The combat makes it feel different, that is the selling point, but not the rest of the game. I encourage people to try it out, but i would never tell people to buy it.

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

I agree that there is no "next big thing" anymore. No MMO will hit 11 million co-occurent users again for many many years, if ever. People just have to realise that you don't need 11 million players to be successful and that it is better to have a smaller and more dedicated playerbase, so that future content is not dumbed down for everyone like in WoW. I really started to miss the old days of TBC before discovering TERA.

Even WoW is losing players and in a 5 years or maybe even less it will be close to the numbers of other sub mmos. WoW won't die, but it will diminish and then Blizzard will actually have to try and cater to a specific playerbase, it will definently improve their game.

Well... those are my thoughts. The days of 11 million sub mmos are slowly coming to an end and people need to accept that and play what they like, not what they think is popular.

Please don't advertise another game in the TERA forums :P

We have heard enough of the "I can't move while attcking" argument. Just play any real action game an you will see the same mechanics. If you don't like action games, TERA is not for you. Just go back to the GW2 forums and discuss your favorite game. Do you see me posting how good TERA is in the GW2 forums or any forums of another game?

I liked MMOs better when gamers didn't play them, and just geeks did.
