It may be nice to see full servers on TERA right now, but not if you can't get into the one your guild chose, I'm facing the longest queue I have ever seen, but that is due to a lot of the players realizing that the strength of the game is it's PVP, and that GvG is only on the PVP servers. Still, gave me an excuse to role a zerker on a PVE server, which is what I wanted till my guild went all PVP crazy.

 

I am sure GW2 will shape up to be very good eventually, it’s just NCsoft’s vendetta against Bluehole that lead to this rather messy first beta, Anet are a competent bunch, I just wish they had gone with a better engine, I am surprised at how bad many of the screenshots posted here are.

 

As to this immature and tribalistic mentality, both sides need to grow up and realise there is no need for sides, most of us will enjoy both games, and the rest who do not like one or both can just say so and leave the rest alone. This is why I don't go to sport matches, I hate this kind of culture.

 

I love TERA, and GW2, and hope to love TSW, I don't envy the rest here who feel the need to hate, seriously, they are just games. If this where my usual religious or political forums I would understand the emotional investment and resentment of other people's "hobbies", (though not approve) but... perspective people.

EME even added a new pvp server in  (which i knew they were going to add in for server way) but i swear they never would have expected to need to add server in during head start. And like everywhere people are asking for headstart keys left and right lol. I know just like on my friends vent, it was only me and one other person playing. Than 2 more pre-odred and than 2 more and than suddenly the whole vent is playing Tera XD Spreading like a virus.

And I have to thank GW2 for it all lol, thank you NCSoft for rushing out GW2 before it was ready so people would play Tera instead =P

sorry, but thats just not true. i logged on to tera for a while last nite at prime time and found it kinda quiet. it was far more lively during its OB.

the people whining (which you could only gather numbers here, as no one bad mouths it ingame and rarely on the official boards) make up a handful....a handful compared to the thousands playing,

if what you say is true, then Tera had dismally small numbers to begin with which would not bode well for it at all

I've waited through at least 5 1 hour ques this weekend. I am in a guild with 35 active members and most of the top guilds have over 100+ members (10 or more guilds I looked at recently). Not sure where you are gathering your information but you are sadly mistaken when most of my channels are bustling with people and you say it is quiet. Area chat is moving at an insane pace. I am fighting off people for BAMs getting insta ques for dungeons on my Lancer....yeah...

@wrightstuf lol. You must have logged into a PVE-server cause the PVP-servers are filled to the brim. And that's the ONLY thing I don't like so far with TERA. All these queues. Reminds me of the AION release. And I see like 1000-1500 in que. Is it THAT hard to get them in this day and age? Either way, once in the game its a freaking blast. The game is so well optimized and runs so smooth. And Im a european playing on the US servers. I tried GW2 some as well on friday and saturday, but that game has alot of work to do still. They are smart enough not to have given us a release date on that game yet.

And i know its in Beta and i do hope they fix all their stuff, but you know what? Its their own fault for trying to compete with Tera. They knew for a fact the game is in beta and not nearly polished enough, as we can see with no well optimized graphics and other issues. If they knew th at it was unpolished why the hell did they decide it was a good idea to put Beta same time as Tera head start? Doesn't matter if its Beta vs a game thats out for a year, people are going to make comparison no matters what. Also from what i seen the quests are retardly diffcult at some points where if you try to solo your pretty much screwed. The entire game feel more like alpha than a Beta with all the issue and what? 2/3 races thats not even released?

Also its really funny because before the Beta all the GW2 fanboy going on about how much better GW2 is than Tera blah blah balh, than Beta comes out they suddenly go o its only Beta you can't compare? Would you stop with the 2011 release? It was released as a different game. Play the korean version then play the US. Sure they do not have to do as much work as GW2, but they still had and have to do a significant amount of work that you shouldn't mock brabra. 

Also I am not talking bugs or lack of content which is what a beta would bring, i'm speaking that the game is not what it was told to be. I was one of those who was hyped for GW2 and ever since the CBT 1 I have been in disgust with the work the team has provided. This game is NOTHING special. It's a good graphics version of WoW with less guidance and a silly dodge roll that is very limited.

oh well, i'm totally spoiled now by GW2. Tera was just ok for me before. now i'm not excited much at all. i did pre order and my 1 month is set to expire may 22. I don´t see that much defending. I only see different views on the topic. But you saying that the servers were quite on TERA just made you look like a silly GW2 fanboy. I was one of them that was super excited for GW2, and I still am looking forward to it. But I realized after playing TERA, that GW2 just not might have what it takes for ME. I was rather disapointed with GW2. OK, it´s far from being released, but if your into PVP I think it goes without saying that TERA beats GW2 silly. And in TERA there is ACTUALL GvG. How ironic is that? But I agree, there will be room for both games. No doubt. And I´ve bought CE of both of them, so I will play em both. But GW2 needs to step up to beat TERA for me.

well i play tera and i was in gw2 beta..out of the 2 tera comes   off best,but only due to the fact that it has a year on gw2 interms of release.gw2 is a great game in its own way.i do not think for 1 second that people will not buy gw2 because they will.my  point is this,tera is sub based ,gw2 is BTP.does'nt take a genious to work out that the same people can own both  games..i do.and if you were in gw2 whenever a screen came up.i,e stoy,it said work in progress.a few months and gw2 will be fine imo.

There is no point in comparing the polishing and stability a game released in january 2011 and that was polished for 1 year and half with a game still in beta test and with no launch date announced. If you think that it was just a BWE there will be world imploding madness at day 1.

Still i played GW2 this BWE and the game delivered exactly what it promised. It's nice to see that for once the developers kept their promises.

There are still technical issues to solve but gameplay wise the game is magnificent. It sets new standards for the genre in many ways (but not in everything like the gearbased game concept). It's nice to see for once a mmorpg themepark that thinks different.

Still it's true that Tera took advantage of the technical issues of the Gw2 servers to get more attention. People frustrated not being able to login in the beta choose to go to an already released and stable game. It's no surprise.

It's good the 3rd may launch will be even bigger.

You are greatly misinformed. The game is out in Korea since january 2011. Enmasse worked on the westernized client but it's a far stretch to say they are "developing the game".

They are traslating the game and adjusting minor things gameplay wise. The engine, the features, and the optimization are all done by Bluehole studios in Korea. The koreans then pass the game to Enmasse.

BTW the battlegrounds were removed from Korean Tera. It's Bluehole Studios that's working on the new battlegrounds not Enmasse. 

Tera is a good game there is no need to lie about it.

Well ok i'm not saying they are doing nothing. They are fixing and adjusting minor things by themselves.

What i wanted to make clear is that the game was developed and is developed by Bluehole Studio in Korea not Enmasse. The new content is made in Korea not NA (just forget about Eu where i'm playing lol i just hope Frogster doesn't kill the game in the next few months: i'm kinda worried).
