Ok idk about how everyone else feels but i find thsi weekend to be most funny and epic weekend so far for Tera. I mean for the past 2 month i been playing the shit out of ever CBT and the only OBT, and for all 6 of those weekends Tera was really on the down low. 4 servers, only really ever had que on cbt 1 and seem really mild. And speically with GW2 stating their first public Beta on Tera headstart weekend everyone didn't think it seem to be looking good for Tera. Many people who were waiting for GW2 decide not to pick up Tera to pass time, many Tera player were going to play GW2 and all those stuff.

And than GW2 beta hits on friday and you know with the overly excited fanbase. And you know the game wasn't what some people expected, and ironiclly helped Tera because the game was very unpolished and didn't meet up to their expections. And so now everyone is flooding in to Tera instead of GW2. I know anyone who played like the CBT and  OBT will tell you we never had this much people trying to play Tera at once. CBT1 there was some long ques but only up to 1hr tops and stopped having que like 6hrs in to the game. We are now like 32hrs since the server has gone up, and we still have over 1hrs que for VoT and JC and BC has like 20minuate que. EME even added a new pvp server in  (which i knew they were going to add in for server way) but i swear they never would have expected to need to add server in during head start. And like everywhere people are asking for headstart keys left and right lol. I know just like on my friends vent, it was only me and one other person playing. Than 2 more pre-odred and than 2 more and than suddenly the whole vent is playing Tera XD Spreading like a virus.

And I have to thank GW2 for it all lol, thank you NCSoft for rushing out GW2 before it was ready so people would play Tera instead =P

And O before the trolls start flaming and stuff, this is my opinion and ONLY APPLY TO SOME not ALL.

To be fair Tera has advantage of already being released once in Asia. This is not the first beta test for Tera and i am sure devs gotto learn a lot from Asian release since the game is pretty much the same.

So unfair to compare with GW2, now if GW2 had advantage of two releases and still screwed up i would agree with you.

You make it sound like GW2 is released. It doesnt even have a release date yet. Its still in beta. So its sort of pointless to go bragging right now.

TERA is an MMORPG by Bluehole Studio. It was released in South Korea on January 25, 2011.

 

You are comparing a game in beta to one that has been released since early 2011.

In GW2's defense, there are still a lot of GW2 fans that enjoyed the game this weekend, and it's really not fair to compare a game that is still in beta with one that has been out for a year and a half.  Saying all that, I think it's pretty obvious that TERA isn't going to be going away anytime soon, and many people that have played TERA did prefer it to GW2.  Doubtful that they are a majority, but the folks in my PvE guild certainly preferred TERA and don't think of the game as a stop-gap until GW2 is released.  

GW2 will be a very popular game.  TERA will most likely still be a very popular niche title.  But I do think that a lot of people this weekend found out that GW2 isn't going to be the Messiah of mmos, nor is TERA going to fall off the map when games like GW2 and TSW are released.  TERA can hold its own with anyone.

Beta or not the concept of the game is crap, and it's mechanics aren't far behind that. GW2 is a bust that people were far too excited in to let go even now. I find GW2 to be the Tebow of video games.

Also tera in US is different from the 1 year released korean version. If you do not believe me try them both yourselves. This is comparing a beta near released game to another beta near released. The moment your company starts taking pre-orders that get you into beta's... means the game is pretty close to release.

HAha it is bro. It's completely overhyped junk. I am a Broncos fan and all, and respected the dedication Tebow gave us... however I can realize when the public tries to sugar coat something that will not be. GW2 will take the same route as AoC. Everyone was all in love with it pre-launch and had high hopes, then after a year or a little more it dropped fast.

And i know its in Beta and i do hope they fix all their stuff, but you know what? Its their own fault for trying to compete with Tera. They knew for a fact the game is in beta and not nearly polished enough, as we can see with no well optimized graphics and other issues. If they knew th at it was unpolished why the hell did they decide it was a good idea to put Beta same time as Tera head start? Doesn't matter if its Beta vs a game thats out for a year, people are going to make comparison no matters what. Also from what i seen the quests are retardly diffcult at some points where if you try to solo your pretty much screwed. The entire game feel more like alpha than a Beta with all the issue and what? 2/3 races thats not even released?

Also its really funny because before the Beta all the GW2 fanboy going on about how much better GW2 is than Tera blah blah balh, than Beta comes out they suddenly go o its only Beta you can't compare? Wtf? What happen to all the comparison of how much better GW2 was before it was even in beta? What happened to that GW2? Is this a different GW2 than the ones i been hearing about all the time?

Also my reply to the quote was 1 line, if you read the rest i stayed reason about comparing GW2 to Tera even though its in Beta. Again people been comparing GW2 before it was in beta to Tera all the time, suddenly Beta comes out and its not as good as they all hoped I can't compare them any more? GW2 has been in development since 2007. Maybe even longer. Some say 6 YEARS. Longer than any major mmorpg in history.

atleast  GW2 has World vs world working right, Tera can only talk about it and no show.

In Rex's defense the amount of time a game has been out in other places means nothing, NC asked and wanted the showdown and I actually feel bad if ANet was being hurried. If so it was s bad business call and they should know by now what happens when you "release" something less than smooth. This was not meant for mere testing else they would not have required you pay. They boasted one million beta apps and they had an NDA to protect them, no excuses. With all of the posturing and jaw-jacking of the community you had to have seen this coming lol. I hineyly with GW2 the best but it's still funny.

Sorry folks, I've played Tera and Guild Wars 2; Guild Wars 2 is better than Tera.

It will be funny when Tera is done to 2 servers. Compring these 2 games and considering Tera is even in the same league is funny in itself. After playing both I can honestly say Tera is a step backwards, while GW2 is a big step forward.
