No TERA is not the next big thing. I dont think we will ever see a next big thing again really. TERA is the best mmo of 2012 though.

Have to agree, it's the best MMO of 2012. Even though it's not my favorite.

Agree. Was in 3 CBTs.  I did notice on the last one they added a prologue story which was fun, but I couldnt get over starting at the starter island for the 3rd time doing the exact same missions.  I recommended they had different starting areas for different races to add some replayability but probably didnt fit within thier design.

The aging "go-to-NPC-to-get-quest-to-start-event" mechanic was exposed to me before level 12 and broke immersion.

There's nothing like playing a game you love, and wish TERA well as its a unique experience.  Just not for me.

I've tried the beta so many times and couldn't get my interest up.

I personally found the game underwhelming. I think a lot had to do with the story/lore - I just didn't care. The action combat part was cool, but DCUO did that better in my opinion. The dodge mechanic didn't add much to the game for me. I wanted to like the game more than I did, but oh well.

 Oh ye of lil faith of Failcom.All you have to do is look at there track record and history and know TSW is gonna be fail regardless it will be like all there other mmogs full of some cool features and alot of hyped up broken promises that never see the light of day or by the time they do get in the game not many are left playing that actually care.

Yeah I play a sorc and I was really surprised at how much I moved compared to any other mage-type in any other MMO.

Most mages in other games stand in one spot to do all their damage.  You can't do that in this game.

I can't say that Tera will be the next big thing, but I think it does have the potienal to increase its subs in the future.

The type of combat has been done before with vindicus and dragons nest. prob a few other games have done it also.

Also the title has been used so much it just makes things worse for tera.

Feel free to check one of the thousands of theads disputing the above claim.  It wasn't a hit out of the gate because it lacked content.  That is no longer the case.

Spin it as much as you want. Servers merged and even if they have added content the price in japan is exaggerated, I havent seen any news of their sudden success foricng them to open all the servers again.

The game may be in a better state now but that does not mean its a success.

I hope its good! I ordered it and it should be here by the end of next week! I need something to play in between GW2 betas and it's release. I played some of the Tera beta and it seemed fun. :)  No I'm not knocking Tera or claiming GW2 is better. I just love playing MMORPGs. :)

If all you have to point at is how the game did a year and a half ago I think TERA is going to do great! Lol. Since you did bring up the, not related at all to NA/EU TERA, past you know why K and J TERA did bad I'm assuming? If you did you wouldn't be bringing it up now but maybe you have an angle we haven't heard before.
