With all these other high profile MMOs running ramparnt atm (SWTOR/TSW/GW2) I feel that TERA might just be that sleeper that makes a bigger spalsh than people are predicting. I tried out the CBT but didnt really get into it much as I knew my character was going to be deleted, I didnt want to get too attached. Now that Open Beta is upon us and we actually get to keep the character through to launch (normally unheard of) then I can really sink my teeth in.

 

This will be what Final Fantasy XIV and AION should have been (for the western audience) and I forsee a smooth laucnh.

 

Not to mention, it will knock Age of Conan off for being the best looking MMO. I simply have not seen better graphics (better than GW2 too) on PC, EVER!! Thats right, this has to be the most beautiful piece of electronic artwork I have ever seen!

TERA for MMO GAME OF THE YEAR!!

Hell yes! My 3rd CBT just ended 20 minutes ago in the middle of the huge bossfight and i must say that Tera have returned my faith in MMO's at last. After Age of Conan, Warhammer, Aion, Rift & Swtor im finding game that feels like oldschool real MMO as it should be. I have returned and im definitely gonna be participating and look what Tera have to offer.

you mean the cash shop that tera has in korea and will probably come here

i played the tera beta it looks pretty and has action combat

its fun but not worth $15 a month to me

and it was already discussed earlier that my issues with being rooted

when you use an ability goes away after lvl 20

but it doesnt change the fact that the game gives a bad 1st impression

 i was interested but with GW2 coming id rather wait and try its beta out 

before i choose to spend my money 

i could try gw2 and not like and then ill just b playing aion till PSO2 comes out in the US

 On my word if NA TERA has a cash shop like the one GW2 looks to have (they might change it a bit before release) and still expect a sub price I will unsub and never look back until it's changed back.  I don't care about skins (cosmetic items) or special looking mounts in a P2P CS.  In fact, like you yourself said, item shops to sell well but to me it's what's in the CS that's important.

The cash shop is ultimately the decision of the publisher. If the publisher adds a cash shop, it shows that they want to milk the customers for some extra revenues.

Ah, thanks. I figured as much. The items themselves I don't care about. The reason is that I never purchase CS , well, other than EQ2 when I was planning to get AoD. That was ironically before I found out about TERA lol.

Seriously this thread is going no where, people who don't like Tera won't like it no matter how much we defend it. So i really don't see the point. Also if you don't like Tera and you made your point (about 10x over the same damn things) just leave the thread for peopel who enjoy the game. All for constructive critism but when you always viewing everything negative there is so much construstiveness it in before we back to flaming back and forth. Seriously so many people here say they don't care about Tera why the hell are you all here? I don't care about  GW2 or TSW at all so i avoid their forum. Even then, I am hestitant on registering for Tera Online because of the p2p payment model. If I play 6 days in a month, $15/month is not worth it. I would definitely get this game if it was b2p. This game seems too good to turn down like the other MMO's. I would probably have to reconsider in July.

I agree. EME should have considered other payment models before releasing the game considering the terrible release time they chose. 

I would be very surprised if it survives the year without going F2P. I think they are just going to milk as many box sales and subs for as long as they can.

 EME is going to "milk subscriptions" based on current gaming trends? I hope TERA stays P2P as long as they make the game worth it.  I believe the game will be more than worth a sub at launch but in paying a sub the game should be continually improving.  It's not EME's fault people treat MMOs like console games and if the current trend is all B2P/F2P that's great.  By all means play those games.  I think you will find there are many willing to pay 15.00 for a solid game with no gimmicks.

I am not saying that they should adopt the B2P model or saying that the B2P model is financially better. Just clarifying that it suits me better (me being casual and not spending at least half of the moneth playing) and B2P does not always involve a cash shop.

What i see here is a group of certain individuals that only have eyes for GW2 and any other game that defies their game is already dead before birth. It is pathetic. Seriously, why all the hate? Go to the GW2 forums and see how the venom of Tera posters are so upset that GW2 might be popular.  Its a two way street unfortunetly.

You're right, it would seem kind of petty to come to another games section with no intention other than to bad mouth it's game and promote their own.

There have been some posters who have great points to debate. Others have had either rimshot one-liners or have been reading of the pamphlet given by their game lol.
