Title ^-^
Also, if you're say.. Going down a hill path, can you just jump off the side to the bottom, does it have that sort of freedom, or do you need to follow a path etc like in GW1
And can you jump? |

wow you can just make shorter ttile and put that in post lol Yes, if you see a mountaint you can climb up it, however some edge are too steep so you have to go around. Invisible wall only really exist when you get near the edge of the contient aka if your trying to go in to the ocean there is invisable wall because you can't swim across the ocean. And yes jumping does exist and yes your going to need it to get up lot of the mountains. |

lol at the title length But yes I actually found that I could travel over the mountains to get to new zones instead of just staying on the path. Many of the mountains will be too steep to climb in areas but you can almost always find a way up them if you look for it. |

From my experience I managed to find a lot of invisible walls. Terrain also like was said before too steep to climb, as far as jumping down things you can do this.

I think I answered my own question. I found a couple videos of swimming in the game. Can you not go under the water because thats all I could find was characters swimming on the surface. At least it's a bit better that SWToR and having no swimming at all! :) Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not. |

There are certainly walls, but TERA is probably the most open, seamless world you will find in a themepark game currently out (right along with Vanguard). And it's more open, massive, and explorable than any game that will be released this year.

Originally posted by Amjoco yes, you swim in water, you can swim in the ocean too but you will hit a invisable wall. Originally posted by ariboersma so far i only found them along the edge of the contients, as the too steep there is always ways around it and little place where you have to get just the right angle to get on =P it fun lol guild spend good 2-3hrs just climbing during cbt 4 |

only game where I have felt that feeling is Vanguard and EQOA. I suggest you try vanguard when it goes free to play, I resubbed in anticipation. Greatest exploration MMO out there I've played (besides DF, but that game sucked in every other way pretty much).

Originally posted by ubermut Yeah Vanguard is one of a kind regarding exploration. Aside from a huge, huuuge world the "regions" are blended very well with one another. It has it's own problems besides that but those comments are better left to the VG forums. Regarding exploration in TERA I think it could have flying mounts at launch if it wanted to, I was able to travel from the outskirts of Velika to some desert level 38-ish area (can't think of the name) by mountain climbing. I was able to get right under the "sky whale" as it passed by. The only thing TERA would need to do for free flying is clean up the mapping lines between it's regions. Contrary to popular belief the "portals" you enter while travelling on a pegasus just keep you from crashing, you are warping in real time to your location. When they do add flying mounts the first thing I'll do is fly to the Island of Dawn. When I first played TERA I was interested in all the ships in the distance that crashed along the crater created by the island. When I got to Velika and travelled to a high point outside the city I seen the same ships and wanted to trvel there. Since it's in the middle of the ocean, which is off limits at the moment, I wasn't able to get there by foot. Just not worth my time anymore. |

in general, there are alot of invisible walls in this game, and going left out of Velika there's a fairly long, boring deadend with nothing interesting to see and plenty of invisible walls to crawl along. its my main complaint with Tera. all the different sectsion of the map are fairly closed off from each other, and connected by "tunnels"/pathways. world is beautiful tho, even tho, those different sections break immersion when you notice them. Originally posted by corpusc What level were you able to get up to during beta? I also ran into "walls" while mountain climbing but was able to find ways around them mostly unless I was going to fall off a cliff. This was just the "starting" areas of the game too. I've been told by those that have played KTERA that the zones open up at a certain point and give a better feeling of exploration. If your like me and have not seen those zones first hand it would be something to look forward to. I was puzzled by the empty countyside around Velika as well. I could make a few guesses as to why but they would be just that. Seems strange indeed. Just not worth my time anymore. |

I didn't like it either, the first few areas seem very claustrophobic. However, everyone I have pestered, I mean asked relentlessly, said the zones become more about open spaces once you get past 20-25 abouts.
Just not worth my time anymore. |

I will tell you this much, some of the open world dungeons in tera are larger than zones in other games.
