Freezzo writes: Erm... I guess I'm not really the audience for cupcake video girls talking about GW2... Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just not my thing. (And yes, that has to be said because of the shitstorm that gets released otherwise) Thu Sep 13 2012 8:42AM Report
Roxtarr writes: @Freezzo misogyny is bad form.  You diss the video purely on the gender and appearence of the presenter and make no comment on the actual content of the video (which is very good by the way!) Thu Sep 13 2012 8:49AM Report

Indrome writes: Less floral patterns around the fonts... would be my only suggestion springing to mind right now. (I mean of course that's part of the "schtick" you're probably aiming for. But especially the red colored captions are very difficult to decipher for me.) Thu Sep 13 2012 10:26AM Report

I want the quaggan plushies. I needs them.

As for suggestions on the video, mine would be to replace the floral patterns with guildwarsy stuff (quaggans and hylek come to mind). I have no issue with the floral patterns but I see this as an opertunity to make it immediately apparent where the videos interests are.

Saw that you wanted some tips... great start but there are a few things you could do to garner more attention.

1.) The breaks in your video are rather obvious, try to limit those, even make one take if possible. I stopped counting cuts at eleven.

2.) The piercings. While I think they're cool, they're distracting if you are doing a constant, close up of yourself while showcasing images on the other half of the screen. It will also distract people from what you're saying.

3.) The floral font on the bottom of the screen. If you're going fancy, thats fine, but make it dark since its on a white background, and make it larger. Theres no way anyone is going to a) remember them or b) go to the websites there since they can barely read them.

4.) Dress it up! You don't have to flash the screen or wear crazy clothes, but a tank top? Cmon at least act like you didn't just roll out of bed, slap some gel and a bandana in your hair, and turn on the webcam.

5.) Be more relaxed. Not sure on your overall screen time, but the more relaxed and confident you are, the more relaxed and amiable your audience will be. And the more they will focus on what you're saying, instead of noticing when you stutter over words, or have trouble saying things.

6.) Be natural. I'm guessing that the large number of cuts was from you trying to fix stumbles, or trying to remember info. The majority of your audience is gamers, and you don't seem to be going for the newscaster of the year award, so mistakes are fine. Play em off, make a joke out of them! People will be more interested in you knowing that you have a personality, and getting to know your personality, not just the strained excited tone you seem to be trying to convey.

7.) The music when you switched to full screen images... not so much. It just didn't fit. Switch it up a little from image to image, or just... keep talking while the image is up, explaining it more. You have a nice voice, don't be afraid to use it while we can't see you.

Takes a lot of guts to get in front of  a camera and do what you like. Keep it up!

OhMyGoth writes: I actually enjoyed the video and the screen shot with the bear was funny, had a good chuckle with that. Dig the piercings, had the same one's myself a long with 4 others, but took them out at the beginning of the year. Look forward to the next episode, keep up the good work. DarthGeezer writes: Great first episode! :) Fun stuff from the GW2 community.  It's odd that some ppl put down Kaeyi because of her look (piercings, bandana, tank top). That's her style and I like it!  If you want to judge looks, take a look at some of the top guy gamers on the internet.  Sloppy-dressed fat guys that need a shave and wear baseball caps to cover receding hairlines and bald spots.  Sun Sep 16 2012 7:59PM Report
