Game: Guild Wars 2
I always watch these clips as a matter of course, and new MMOGs as they are developed... But that was freaking cool. I must say that GW2 is looking really nice. The proof is in the pudding though... we will see when we can actually play it.
I used to farm grawls in GW1 with whirling defense, brings back memories. Looks a bit cooler now though, hehe.
In GW1, this still used to do a fix amount of damage to a creature who hit you with a projectile, but now it seems like it just repels the projectile all together. Cool stuff!
look how far away the mobs are in the first few shots. then look at their dead bodies in the last shot... hm bet the range isn't as long as it may seem on that
They obviously employed some "poetic license" you could say. The camera angles are obviously very different to what we'll see in-game, the mobs won't die so easily etc. The videos are created to show off spell effects, not a full combat sequence.
It is very impressive to see what effects it bring with the great animation. Though surely, we'll have to see this in action and without the buff of course.
That was the coolest thing ever!!!
