Less than a week after the launch of the Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns expansion, the team is ready to implement some changes to two of the core features: Elite Specializations and Adventures, each tangentially related to other systems including Hero Points.
In a new blog post, ArenaNet's Colin Johanson writes of the team's thanks to the community for their enthusiastic support of the expansion and for the feedback they have provided. Based on suggestions from the community, the following alterations will be implemented soon:
Citing a clear lack of explanation about how Elite Specializations would unlock, the number of Hero Points required to fully open all ES skills will be reduced from 400 to 250. "This", Johanson writes, "means you’ll be able to experience more of the expansion story as your elite specialization earlier on while still maintaining some of our core goal."
Adventures and the friendly competition they embody have been popular with players, so much so that they would like to be able to play more of them more often. The team will be taking a pass at availability and several will be more accessible more often: Bugs in the Branches, Shooting Gallery, Flying Circus and Beetle Feast.
An incorrectly applied setting was artificially reducing the population in some zones. This has been corrected and players should notice the appropriate number of fellow gamers as a result.
