  • Polish or New Content?

Smooth animations, fantastic audio quality, and a good UI are essential for making a good game no matter what genre you're talking about. When it comes to MMO's it's hard to find a game that has a true polished feel. A lot of these games try to fill that gap by just reskinning old content, and slapping it on top of everything to make their game seem larger. Then there's Guild Wars 2. An MMO so polished, it's actually hard to believe. In fact, it's still being polished!

  • The Daily Show

OK, so maybe dailies aren't exactly the first thing on anyone's wish list to be revamped. Still, despite their relatively small impact, they're something you encounter every, uh, day, so they're still important - important enough for ArenaNet to tinker with them for a third time since the game's launch.

  • New Daily Achievement Tracker Debuts with Wintersday

A new blog post has appeared on the Guild Wars 2 site that reveals the brand new Daily Achievement tracker that has arrived with the Wintersday update. Dailies are now divided into PvE, PvP and WvW tabs and, most notably, rewards will be 'thematically tied' to the type of daily that is completed. In addition, a new 'log in rewards' program has started that combines rewards from daily and monthly achievements along with some brand new things to give players incentive to log in every day.

  • Let’s Get Evil!

Being a hero in real life is a lot tougher than you might think, mainly because there aren't any Ogres or Orcs running around trying to burn villages. That leaves only 1 other option, I'm not counting charities because you should be doing that anyways! I'm talking about video games. They let us don some flashy armor, equip over the top weaponry, and open up quest after quest.

  • Seeds of Truth Review and Speculation

It's easy to dismiss Guild Wars 2's Living World updates as "not enough content" if you're not a fan of the game, or are anxious for a true expansion to Tyria. I played through the latest episode, Seeds of Truth last night and while it had a bit of an underwhelming finish, it's plain to see that it's building toward something big in Guild Wars 2.

  • Giving Thanks

I'm sure that when the Pilgrims first celebrated their bountiful autumn harvest, nearly four centuries ago, they didn't just give thanks for surviving in the New World. I'm pretty sure they were equally thankful for their high-speed Internet connections and for their Native American buddies with whom they could play the latest online video games, like Madden Lacrosse '22 and Grand Theft Carriage Online. That all totally happened, right?

  • Give Me Dungeons!

There are many parts of the MMO experience, but perhaps one of the most important is the dungeon. Guild Wars 2 launched with some dungeons that not only helped tell a story, but also offered another reason for players to unite for a single cause. Dungeons were also exciting parts of the Living World story, taking dungeon design to a whole new level.

  • Getting A Handle On The Grind

When I first got wind of how gear acquisition in Guild Wars 2 would work, I loved it. As it was described to me in an interview, the best statistical gear could be obtained relatively quickly and easily, and anything beyond that would just be cosmetic. I thought this sounded great and I totally bought into the "no grind" philosophy espoused in interviews and the Manifesto.
