It really isn't being utalized right now by any class other then engineer's starting equipment.

Think it is +4 power +2 Precision. Has a slot to put a gem but for some reason it will not let me put any upgrade in there. Bugged it actually. 1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical. 2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself. 3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.

My thief got an item called Strong Back Brace as a reward for a personal story mission. It goes into a back slot and has an upgrade slot but I can't seem to upgrade it with anything. Neither gems nor runes work.

The back brace you get doesn't have a lvl so anything with a lvl requirement will not work you can only use the lowest teir gems with it.

On my guardian I have a peice that goes in back slot. It has no visual, just an extra stat piece. kinda lazy for Anet to leave out visual capes and back armor. its only for stats, like the rings and other stuff in that section are.

This indicates you can turn visuals on and off. However the lvl30 story backpiece has no visuals. It's either intended or bugged. Since every guild seems to spend it's points and (time) into upgrades other than armorer contracts (fluff) it might take some time till we can say if guild capes are in that slot with visuals.

If your guild already has a emblem like mine does and you go into the sPvP, you will see your character having the guilds emblem on the chest and its back over a its armor so a real cape like in GW1 isn't there. Same if your guild takes a keep in WvsWvsW, your emblem shows up on the flags/banner around the keep. The guild armourer contract lets you make the guild emblem visible on your armor in PvE and WvsWvsW additionaly while the guild weapon armorer lets you make it visible on guns, bows, shields, swords and so on.... I think that the slot has a purpose and that we will probably get capes when the guild halls are introduced. :) Our politics level 2 should be done by now though and I will start the guild armorer contract next so if there are any capes available after its done (probably by tomorrow), I'll let you know. :)

Capes are now mandatory for an MMO? filmoret: One thing I have never figured out is why the game devs hardly ever fix simple problems that arise. It is like they don't care about the pvp community. Nitth: What makes you so sure its a simple fix? filmoret: Because most of them are. Sometimes its just changing a number in a code string other times its creating a few variables. However none of them should take over a few hours of coding.

Really, I think they put in the slot mostly for future use even if there are a few things you can put there right now.

Hey guys! :) Just a confirmation since I promised to do so. After our guild armorer contract were ready yesterday, I went to the guild armorer and he had two tabs: 1) Guild Armor for light, medium and heavy (costs 1 gold each). This armor piece is just a skin you can apply on any level armor you have. 2) Backpacks that are going to the slot we were talking about in this thread. The backpacks are for level 35 (costs 1 gold), level 60 (costs 3 gold), level 80 (costs 5 gold) Each of these 3 levels are having a few variations of a backpack (not sure about the visuals but the stats were different) with every backpack have 2 different stats and 1 upgrade slot on them. Hope I could help with this info and sorry for the lack of screenshots. ^_^
