Then dont do 1vs50?

WvWvW is supposed to be massive but it has place for small groups and you can solo roam (if youre skilled enough)

agreed. there's no reason to WvW at all.  GW2 completely dropped the ball.  I'm glad i didn't fork over much money to arenanet.

Yeah I went with GW2 instead of the secret world and having regrets. But I dont know of any good RvR/GvG out there right now. Let me know if you got something better than WvWvW

Cosmetic progression and "just for fun" ... two worst end game concepts ever.

Getting more powerful is fun, killing crap is fun.  Why only implement half?

i have my fair share of issues with WvW but overall i can't name a better large scale seige type warfare in a MMO atm

I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. No risk, no reward.  I guess if you love PvP without rewards (you will actually lose cash playing most of the time) this is for you. I really enjoy the rest of the game but WvW needs to have consequences.

I could care less about PvP rewards. People claim ex WoW players are conditioned to winning purples for their efforts, but in the end, everyone willing to invest the time acquires the same piece, more or less. It's not missing progression, so much as it is nameless. This goes for their Battleground setup as well. There has to be real winners and losers in PvP, the ability to make a name for oneself. To stand out among the crowd because of your skill. It's called competition. GW2 PvP is like a kids soccer league. Everyone get's a trophy and celebrates over a pizza after the match.

Yes, go play rvr in those games that don't exist yet. You will be disappointed there as well. Its the endless cycle of the next game has what I want, but not really.

Hi I'm new here in GW2 community :) hello everyone!

took me three weeks of playing and a chat with my colleague Kirk to realize and articulate how much magic lies in that seemingly simple function. The map of Tyria isn't just utilitarian; it's beautiful. Even mired in the fog of war, the painterly brush strokes hint at all manner of terrain to explore underneath.

Guild Wars 2 is not structured as a deeply competitive game, and players who strive only for the best gear, the fastest leveling, and the sharpest end-game technique will likely miss most of what it has to offer. Rather than seeing the absence of an end-game focused quest and gear ladder as a lack, though, I see it as a blessing. It is a journey that gives me great pleasure to explore.

As for the destination? I really have no idea where it all will end. But I will enjoy taking my time—and discovering every single point on every map—on the way there.

Of all my hours logged in GW2, I've spent probably around two thirds of them in WvWvW. I play it because I enjoy it, not because of any bonuses. The recent title and WvW skill points that they implemented have been the cherry on top of the cake. I look forward to seeing what they implement in future. There's a lot of potential.

One thing i've noticed, the people I know who joined competitive guilds and really integrated themselves into their guild and server community through the public teamspeak and give it their all have stayed with the game a LOT longer than those I know who did not.

That sort of thing isn't for everyone though.  The game has its numerous faults.  But if anyone is wanting to get into WvW and thinks they may find it fun, find the servers voice comms and try running with some good commanders and guilds.  The game plays very differently then.  If you still don't enjoy it, maybe the game just isn't for you.

I play the game since the release, and after all this time for me wvw was the main focus but I realise a long time ago anet dosn't care about wvw, I still play with the hope that this will change but every week I log in less.

Easily the biggest disappointment to GW2 for me. I dislike the game a lot, could have sort of enjoyed the game if WvW was fun, but it flat out sucks IMO.

I find it funny that TERA has GvG and GUILD WARS 2 doesn't.

I find it funny that you don't know why the game is called Guild Wars.  Your username is perfect.

Anyway, I've been having a lot of fun in WvW lately, but I wish there was a limit per team/server like the old Alliance Battles, one of the few things from GW1 that didn't suck.

The devs of this game are deathly afraid of upsetting anyone. No risk no reward is very accurate. I like the game because there is just nothing else out that isn't a linear quest hub droolfest or POS poorly developed indie sandbox. After about one day of wvw it's readily apparent that the only motivating factor is "fun".

I have to agree. I would have never imagined it was possible to make such large scale PVP feel so meaningless. I'd rather have 1 FFA zone on my home server than WVWVW.
