Can I run this game on high without severe lag with this build?

Intel Core i3 540 @ 3.07GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450

and 8 gig ram.

no, probably not on high, but I would suggest trying out maybe SweetFX and running on med. It can make your GW2 experience better without sacrificing fps. You can check out some of the members here using it http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/369122/Guildwars-2-SweetFX.html

what res do u play at?

expect a 10-15fps reduction with mass players around.

Bleh. Hopefully I can run it on medium, and I'll give sweetfx a go :3
