The 2000 Gem cards are worth $25.00 I've already seen some resellers pricinng them much higher. Don't pay more than $25!

Don't pay for gems, use ingame coin instead.

This option is more and more expensive. At launch 100 gems were 28 silver, now it is ~70 silver, which is very high. Once it reaches 1 gold mark, farming money to get gems will be too much time consuming.

Not really, at 80 farming gold is fairly easy. Doing a single dungeon run can = 1g if you don't skip content and do speed runs. AC for example tends to give me 1g a round or close to it and it takes about 30 minutes. Use Omnomberry bars which increase gold drops by 40% and you will see why this isn't much of an issue even if it hits 1g for 100 gems. I just purchased enough gems to buy the boxing gloves, chefs clothes, and ring masters hat with gold I had no use for lol...

I've been trying to support ANet through Gem purchases ($20 a month is my general rule of thumb so far) but there's really not much to buy on the cash shop.

I remember when a lot of people were claiming that it would be Pay-2-Win but that's definitely not the case.  So much so that I can't even find much to waste my money on.

Still working on more bank and bag slots personally. No real use for the buffs, no real drive to buy keys. Costumes... maybe, depending what they add later. You're fully right... definitely not even the slightest whiff of pay-to-win that so many doom and gloomers were forecasting.

So without Omnomberry bars, that is like 2.5 dollars in gems per hour? Correct me if I did any mistake in that calculation.
