i've been there. theres actually a little underwater town a bit north of there. as far as what the wall is for, i think its to keep your progression in that zone so you dont wonder into some higher level area an get yourself killed. also it looks pretty epic.

Dominion of Winds, walled off territory of Tengu. ANET said it wont be accessible for launch. maybe update or expansion. yeah it looks epic

It is the main Tengu city, is it not? Should be available in later expansions or patches to the game I believe.

That is one seriously badass wall the tengu built. Though Guild Wars 1 taught me just how far 'seriously badass wall' can take you. |

When you look at the map, it pretty much looks like a wall to keep the area from flooding.

There's a skillpoint challenge across a bridge over there where you have to fight a Tengu bowman (who puts up quite the fight, if I do say so myself.) If you were that curious, you should have talked to the NPCs around there :p I did so in BWE3. If I can recall correctly, they explained that their city lies beyond the walls but they do not allow access to strangers. You can inquire further and learn that they don't strictly prohibit strangers entry, they're merely wary and cautious of strangers. They hint that you can perhaps gain access eventually. They also mentioned other stuff about the types of weapons they use, that even though all the Tengu in that little tribe wielded bows, the bow wasn't an exclusive weapon. It's simply their little group's preferred choice. This opened up conversation about other Tengu tribes around Tyria and where they may be located. There was more, but that's about all I can remember. Hope that helps :) |
