If you like sPvP, you'll probably produce fecal bricks of enjoyment from this match. I did.

ENJOY.

Amazing play from Team SS. They actually played them 3 times in a row and won everyone of them, even after Paradigm trying to counter their builds/comp.

sPvP in this game is pretty bland : /  There isn't a high enough skill cap in this game to warrent it as an e-sport like Arena Neta is pushing it to be.

That's just silly Navac. Considering what popular esports games there are out there with much lower skill cap.

Since you can use dodge, I would think the skill cap is very high.

The wow skill cap in 3v3 arenas are indeed quite high. But it doesn't come close to gw2's skill cap, imo.

-> 2. Not fun to watch for you? Or for everyone? And why? Almost anything can be fun to watch if you understand the core dynamics behind it. Thats called "introspective observation" by some. Its what you do when you watch something you understand a fair deal about and go "Hm... what would I have done here?" in your head. FYI I didn't watch the OPs vid.

-> 3. You do understand what teamplay is about, right? Ah, nevermind. There are tons of opportunities for a single player to change the outcome of any battle. AoE from a tactical point of advantage? Heal in a critical moment? Rooting a charging warrior just in time? ... I don't understand how one can not see what is possible with an entirely skill-based combat system. A single player could outplay an entire team if he's skilled enough.

-> 4. So dodging skillshots isn't reactive? And you clearly haven't played GW2 yet or you'd know the only thing button mashing does is locking your abilities in cooldown so they're unavailable when you really need them. Also, what do you mean with "game breaking stuff"? Are you talking about exploits? Controlled de-clipping? What?

loool. so dodge a powerfull atack isnt reactive? be immobilize and remove the condition with a skill isnt reactive? be stuned and use a break stun isnt reactive? using a knockdown when someone is using a strong melee atack on you isnt reactive?

please tell me what is be reactive for you?  yes, exist players that just hit random skills but good players look at them and make a smile, spend skills when you dont need and and you really need them you don have and you will gonna die. yap, those button smash are a crap players, on tournaments will be a joke

so much for "just spamming 1" eh? :)

guess those kids need a new argument now.

whoever claims that (AFTER WATCHING THIS VID) seriously should watch it again, or reconcider his own supposed lvl of skill *G*

Its better to be quiet and perceived as stupid, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Necro's Death Shroud negating Warrior's Adrenaline was amazing. And he did multiple times. One thing GW2 now really needs is a proper casting interface.

Nature without Technology is little more than animals running about.
Nature without Magic is without wonder or miracle.
.........
Magic without Technology is fantasy.
Magic without Nature is formless and useless.
.........
Technology without Nature is application without understanding.
Technology without Magic is repetitious and uninventive.

Much love for the comments! Does anyone have any questions as to what moves were used in a given situation, certain counters, or explanations of any kind?

I'll explain how Death Shroud is a good part-time counter to warrior's part-time psycho-burst. At the right times, you can use death shroud, stability, fear, and rolling. Stability being the main one to counter the immobilize/stun, and fear being perfect if the warrior doesn't have stability (from Balanced Stance or another source)

I have a question. Warriors, I read so much about them. How much damage they do, how to counter them. So much seems centered around warriors. I've watched so many clips guiding me to quickly recognize a kill shot and 100 blades, etc. Are wars really OP atm?

They're able to do a lot of burst with their Bull's Rush>100 Blades combo, but it's pretty easy to see coming. Even if one should surprise you by flanking you in a fight, just hope you have your stun break off cooldown.

I really liked this video, shows, again, that playing GW2 is not about spamming abilities off of CD, but using them strategically. Great job.

"Loading screens" are not "instances".

Some general comments and questions:

  • Wanna try out a poison build now that I saw that thief.
  • How versatile do you expect Ele builds to be? Seems like they have a lot of room to expand.
  • Do you guys feel that they should the remove the "counter stomp" abilities while downed? They do seem more annoying than anything else.
  • Seems like most usefull necro builds rely on beign very tanky.
  • The bubble at the cap point was pretty cool.
  • Seeing this lets me know this game has VERY good casting potential, a few more tools and it could be awesome.

It's just a really scary burst, because if it hits you (and you aren't prepared for it), it's more or less an instant kill.

I wouldn't say it's OP, though, because it's very easy to spot, has a TON of ways to counter it, and it requires at least 3 cooldowns to be effective, but usually uses 4 (signet of might, frenzy, eviscerate, sometimes with balanced stance) + hundred blades.

Like you saw in the shoutcast, every class has at least a few counters for it (especially if the warrior doesn't have balanced stance), and once you counter it, you generally won't see it again during the fight (warrior usually dies before then, or runs away).

You guys have come along way, I was entertained during the entirety of that cast. I'd even seen all of the videos from SS's perspective prior to this so its not as if the match was new, your commentating made it more enjoyable. Which is exactly what casting needs to be about, entertaining and informing the audience.

Awesome job ... keep it up and I'll have to make a youtube account to sub.
