Hey guys,

After bwe3 I fell in love with the norn race. I love to be able to choose my ancestors (Vikings), and they just looks so awesome.

I rolled a warrior and it just seemed so natural being huge like that so I decided to roll the other classes like norn.

I made a norn engineer where my friend made a human ranger. I were _much_ bigger than he was. True Viking power.
And then I met the flaw.

We both joined the same battlefront and were standing on a hill nuking. It really felt like when we were attacking, people normally takes the big guy, so they went mostly always after me. This is a huge disadvantage when you aren't a wall like a warrior.

The same with thief. It felt a little stupid being so big and stealthy. I like the bigger gear, yet I find it simply stupid that someone that has the double height of a human can hide from the tiniest races.
For not even thinking about the shoulders looks awkward:

I really like norn. But I fear that everyone will target the big idiot in the background most of the time.

Norn 4 Life! :P Norn Necro is my first characater to make:)

I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. If I buy a candy bar at a store, oftentimes, I will drop it... so that it achieves its maximum flavor potential. --Mitch Hedberg

I am 99% starting witha norn warrior. What can you do they are a larger more stand out target. I like how the shoulder pads are bigger but I could see those clipping.

Well OP, I guess it's like all those times the Japanese didn't see Godzilla lying around in the lake bed before they drove their fishing trawler over him. Its all just a matter of scale. ;)

Small races have always had an advantage in pvp..

As far as kill priority.. good players could care less about your race. They will focus fire based on the class/builds of their opponents.

So you feel that because Anet created a Race that was based off large human-like Vikings and they stayed true to that look and feel of that race... That it's flawed? because you get face rolled or targeted first in a zerg or by a group of people? This is one of the "first" MMO's that don't have Class-Race restrictions..In DAOC you always knew that Furbolg was most likely a Bard or Champ so you attacked them first or in WoW you saw a Tauren (vannila) you knew Druid or War....

I think you just need to L2P and QQ less and marvel @ the greatness that is Norn! or just roll an Asura like I plan on doing and being a Warrior..Nothing more Badd*ss then a tiny Asura who can barely lift a 2H Greatsword then when he tears you up with it!

As someone has stated before, it is psychological that people choose the bigger targets. I agree, in a zerg fest where you are 100+, people probably just takes whats closest to them.

But if you are 2 people, lets say both rangers, standing on a hill. The one is Norn the other is Human, 9 out of 10 times they would probably choose the bigger target as he is easier to click on. Even if a human stands in front of a Norn, you could accidently miss the human and then click the Norn.

And the shoulderpads seems to have graphic looking bugs as I showed in my first post :/

Considering they have the same hitbox, I don't see how it is easier to target one over the other.

On the other hand, being smaller also means you have a harder time to see the world snce your camera is closer to the ground...

It is a trade off.

Ok...

First thing first - small races does not always have advantage in PVP.

It largely depends on class that you want to represent :

Thief is a class based on stealth , you dont always want people to notice you before its too late. - Here small races have advantage.

Mesmer needs decoys to fool opponent , you want that your decoys are big and visible in order to sow as much chaos possible. But on other hand you dont want to be too big to be targeted first. - here medium races will be perfect.

Warrior needs to be intimidating. People should run when they see warrior. Alternatevly you will want to protect squishy team mates , so you want to intimidate people in targeting you first. - Here big races have advantage.

So -

Thief , Ele , Ranger - Small

Necro , Engie , Mes - med

Guardian , Warior - big

----

Also ,

You want to play agressive brave character ?

Than why are you hiding like a chicken ?

....

To me much more worrying is funky looking armors on Charr ...

In BW for some reason started playing Charr Thief (i know its crazy) and fell in love with it.

But medium armors do look bit funky on charr , i must admit

The reason I like Norn over human is because their gear is more noticeable. The shoulder pads are way bigger than the Humans.

Its hard to notice the gear on a human, and I know I will be jealous if I make a Human Necron, and I see a Norn Necro with HUGE skull shoulders I would get pretty jealous.
