i think pve is the weakest selling point of GW2 atm. so i wonder what kind of pve content should be added in order to enhance replayability value for true pvers, perhaps large scale raiding? i think the old raiding system is getting way too obsolete. are there any other fun alternatives ? what kind of content pve wise do you guys think, this game needs the most to keep you hooked for a long time without getting burn out too fast?

GW2 has tons of pve content. I personally do not enjoy raids, at least after the first time I run one. very, very boring to repeat the same raid. But to answer your question, I expect they will add more dynamic events as time goes by.
Raids? I would probably not even bother with them. |

I was overwhelmed the starting area content as far as what was offered. Not that it was bad or good but the sheer options to tackle made me want to pop in pvp. I had a long day at work and didnt want to think.... Lol.

PVE is equally strong as PVP in the game, the amount of content is huge Block the trolls, don't answer them, so we can remove the garbage from these forums |

Originally posted by bill4747 Dynamic events is fine, but you eventually get tired of them. Rift and Warhammer comes to mind. they are ok while you are leveling. but once you get to max level, what else is there for you to do, if pvp isen't something you wanna do on regular basis.? i was refering more to high end pve content. |

And it has already been noted as far as PvE goes, if you're just looking at your map for stuff to do, you're missing HUGE amounts of content available per map. Not everything is shown on the maps. Go out and explore, tons of hidden stuff out there to find. |

not to mention game starts with 8 dungeon each with one story mode and 3 explorable modes. All in all game is packed with PVE content.. only thing I could see people upset about is lack of raids but i have never been a raider so it doesn't bother me and there are huge open world events to do as well.. oh then obviously you have an entire personal story you could follow as well each with tons of interesting instanced events that take place I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. Originally posted by MoonBeans First up there is clearing all the dungeon content and gear. 8 dungeons with 3 wings each = 24 different dungeon sets of gear (all cosmetic of course). Also, finding DE's that you haven't done yet in all the zones. Recall that you get leveled down to the appropiate content level you are participating in, so even at level 80 the level 10 zones can be a challenge. Also the legendary item sets and weapons are suposed to be extremey hard to get and require a lot of effort. I know one legendary greatsword that gives your character a silver glow and particle trails follow as you run, and I want it so bad :). But also recall that the stats are equal to any level 80 greatsword, its just different in cosmetics and visual effects. Personally, that makes me want to get it but not feel forced to get it since I can be just as effective in PvE and PvP with a level 80 common weapon. |

What is an event like the Shadow Behemoth if not a Open World raid? Mechanics included: - avoid the circles - the boss will do massive damage there; - avoid the boss hands as it comes down; - close the portals that spawn adds to be able to attack the boss; - deal with the adds at the same time you deal with the red circles; - attack the boss while he is vulnerable.
There - nice little raid at level 12-14. Currently playing: GW2 |

I dont know any mmo (themepark wise) out now, including x-pacs, with as much content as gw2. sorry to say, it saounds fanboy like, but think it over for a sec... To compare with wow (mmo with most subs currently) the content in..wait, let me stop there, and put it differently.
I have never felt a game/mmo throw so much content at me in EVERY starter/lower lvl zone than gw2 does, i have to stop, think and decide, not because of choices, those are in most mmos, but becaue im almost overwhelmed by HUGE amount of pve things to do, and take note that much of the world has underground also + EVERY sea or ocean or even a dang puddle has underwater content to Explore...come on....really..lack of pve?? no way. Just my thoughts. |

Originally posted by MoonBeans My 3 BW and im already bored of the PvE in GW2, DE are not really dynamic and it feel more like a colective quest where u need to hit a mob at least 1 time to get credit, i saw people waiting for a mob or item respawn to fill the contrubition bar, is exaclty like any other MMO before were u was waiting a respawn to kill a mob and complete the quest in a zone full of players. And all the DE are the same, Collect-Kill-Feed or stop the invasion till ur contribution bar is full and move to the next one or just follow the zerg use some AOEs to kill something and earn XP and some Gold. 80 levels doing the same will be bored at some point and PvE endgame is all about do everything that you did before again, PvE in gw2 is really weak atm, but most of us are there for the PvP, is not really a game for the PvE MMO community. |

Originally posted by hikaru77 What game currently has better pve? wow quest hubs? which btw is all themeparks? its different, yes. but i enjoy mostly pvp in games, but im certainly going to lvl my toon in pve b4 ever touching pvp, thats how good i feel it is. so you can say its not for the pve community, you can say: you dont like, and that, i respect. (god i cant believe how much i defend this game all of a sudden, but it really is good, in my opinion.) |
