well honestly if any i see being available would be the sylvari as we have already met the asura sorta lol sylvari are completly new but honestly i kinda dont wanna know as it might ruin  it for me though i doubt it

I've been playing MMO's since Ultima Online. I've always known guys that played the smallest race possible. My husband being one of them. Just like in DAOC, guys always played the kobolds and the female lurikeens because they were the smallest and harder to pick out in huge RvR battles. Lots of guys and gals I knew in WoW, played gnomes because they were the shortest and hardest to target in pvp.

The sylvari ya may have right, we females don't like to play ugly avatars, course I don't see a lot of ugly avatars out there that guys play either.

I'm not sure where you got the idea that I thought guys won't be playing Sylvari or Asura. I'll be playing an Asura exactly for the PvP reason you layed out and I'm a male. I also played a gnome warrior in WoW in season 3.

You were arguing that they were both appealing enough to trump other races as being the most popular whether or not they showed the races early. So I linked a couple of graphs that have thousands of people surveyed (~ 27,000) to show that they are pretty well separated and that Sylvari tends to have a pretty large female lead. And if you look at the overall spread of what players want to play as their main, it looks like this:

If anything, humans appear to likely be the most populated zone at release (assuming that we actually get to see Asura and Sylvari before launch). 

ragrding the argument, that people prefer small races / avatars for pvp: equal size of the invisible hitbox regardless of the size of the avatar or race is possible. well, dunno how GW2 has implemented it.

and this spoiler argument is pretty stupid. if people dont like to get spoiled, they should not play a race or at least not touch its personal story. such simple.

my personal preference for my female ranger so far is: 1. Human, 2. Norn, but i like to know, where Sylvari is in this ranking. i also know for sure, that i will not play a Charr or Asura. 

Edit: i just saw a video, where a dev said, that the hitbox of an Asura and a Norn is equal size, so ....

Chose "other."  I don't really care, and I am already set on playing both Sylvari and Asura for my first two characters, although I will eventually make characters for each race. 

Also, no beta experience will "ruin a surprise."  Your first experience with a race or gameplay feature has to occur sometime.  Whether that is during beta or post-launch, that will be your first time experiencing it.  That is the moment of surprise and fresh novelty.

As a child, if the cookie jar was just sitting on the table, did you resist taking one?  Exactly.   I'm sure that it's just too tempting to resist.  Not to mention that if they were playable in the final BWE, then the WvWvW would be swarming with them and so would Lion's Arch.   This would lead to inevitable spoilers and other tad bits that players may or may not want to hear about coming right out.

 

So, the question's remain:  Will  Arena.net have them in the final event?  Should they? Are you going to dip a finger in the honey pot if it's there?

Couldn't care less since I won't be playing them at launch. However, I read somewhere they might be planning on releasing them next BWE, only time will tell.

I wish both races were in BW3, yes i would play them, no i don't think they will be. Maybe in a future stress test tho.

I'm definitely 'no.'     I respect the 'yes.'   But my vote is no.

I voted yes because I don't care about those 2 races and really don't care about he charr either. They are the 3 races I care the least for because I hate cute little big eared races, also not a fan of the asian emo art the Sylvari have going on and the Charr is just annoying to play with the way they prance around on all fours, reminds me too much of a Moo Cow from WoW.

Probably will roll a Norn or a Human, they are the least cartoonish out of the bunch. I was playing a big fat Norn Thief and a Human regular body Guardian in the past beta's.

Personally, I am banking on them not being available. I would rather be pleasantly surprised than let down ;) I am just glad we have a release date, can't wait to dive in for real!

It would be worth downloading, even for just beta, because this same beta client will be used for launch after numerous patches.
