These posters are still on display in Gamestop stores TODAY according to massively....

Talk about shady sales tactics! How pissed off would you be if you werent following GW2 very closely, and bought the game today based on those posters!

This is why I almost never buy games in retail stores anymore. I usually get digital versions or order from Amazon.

Besides, everytime you buy something at Gamestop, they try to push you to pre-order more stuff. I understand that the employees have to do it but it really turned me off from shopping there.

and its those shady tactics that keeps thier sales numbers low and they wonder why noone wants to buy anything from them hell i could probably go across the street to best buy and get it 10 cheaper then gamestop as everything they sell is marked up quite abit

And this is one of many reasons why Gamestop is a complete joke. They have failed at this sort of thing so many times that they are now infamous for it. I pretty much never go to that store anymore, and always order my stuff online. There have been an exception here & there, and it's usually for games I didn't know about, had just discovered, and that I really had the urge to play imidiately.

I almost feel like visiting my local GameStop just to see if they're doing this too.  I would basically just walk in and laugh at them.

My best bet still holds that they will announce releaseday tomorrow onthe 28th

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package)

The only time I ever buy anything at Gamestop is if all my other options are exhausted, or I want to get something NOW. Sometimes, I will pick up games during their sales. I have also bought stuff from them when I wanted  boxed version and a midnight release.

But selling your stuff to them and buyuing stuff from them for any other reason is just dumb. They will go the way of the dinosoar like every other electronics/game retailer. Online companies are going to force them (and Best Buy) out just like they have done to everyone else.

The one gamestop I infrequently visit is actually pretty good. They don't pressure me into pre-ordering, and the clerks are always willing to stop and b.s. with you about games as long as they aren't swamped. It's the only GS I've been to that's like that, so kudos to whoever the manager is.

Digital sales though are just too easy now though. I can pre-purchase and most often pre-load any game that I want. I can also purchase a game at midnight and then download immediately. Not having to wait in line with a group of degenerates for midnight releases is nice too :P

Well that display was sent out to them by arena-net so i assume that some manager guy who knows nothing about games, said "hey these go up today".
