Probably not..... There were insane amounts of bugs and glitches and remember: gw2 got hacked so they'll first do something bout solving that "Isn't a raid plundering villages in WoW or something like that?" - Robert Desable |

Only your own perception makes the tittle misleading, we are discussing release date here and a possible release date later this week. Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) |

Not a chance, they still have quite a lot of work to do. Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them. |

Lord always has attention whoring titles lol, even I came in here expecting a release date.
To be honest though, I don't expect the game until at least August, maybe a release date announced early July.
Edit: I swear you just edited "possible" into the title... or i'm hallucinating. |

Nice title edit... There's already a multi-page thread about this anyway: http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/353921/How-far-to-release-based-on-latest-BW-.html |

As much as I want one,I doubt it. They outright said in a tweet just before BWE2, they *not* finished making content, mechanics/features and tuning. Not realistic to give a date when that much needs doing. Content fair enough, and to a degree the game can launch a little unoptimised and unbalanced, but missing features not at all. |

This week they'll basically read all the feedback and try to work on it. This "when it's ready" policy lets them take as long as they want and they've been abusing it haha Still, they've said somewhere on the forums (I don't have a link for the source, sorry) that there has to be some time between the announcement of the release date and the actual date, which they plan to be something around a month. Basically, we'll only get a date once it's about a month or so away from launch. So yeah, my guess for the release is september, at best |

It was a good test, but not an incredible test. Fair chance we might get a release date by the end of June, but I tend to think they will need a couple weeks to go over the feedback before deciding. IF BWE2 provided enough confidence for them to set and announce a release date, I'd suggest timing the announcement for a week before the next BWE. A lot of people on the fence may finally take a bite once there is a release date announcement and having the announcment on the Monday before BWE3 would allow them to capitalize on the frenzy by selling more pre-purchases to people wanting to get into the first beta event available after the announcement. I don't think the gap between BWE2 and BWE3 will be more than 4 weeks. (The last gap was a result of issues uncovered in BWE1 and the need for hardware upgrades). So, I think an announcement the last week of June, with a BWE the first weekend in July and a release in late July is about the most optimistic scenario. If BWE2 didn't result in a "GO" for setting a launch date, you can push the entire schedule forward by 3-4 weeks and hope BWE3 results in a "GO" for a late August release. There will be a BWE3 no matter waht, even if release is announced in advance of it. Probably a promitional BWE4 a week before the actual launch as well, unless they start the publishing proccess a week or two before the announcement is made and we see a gap of less than a month between the announcement and release. Since I do not think they will release until Oct/Nov, I don't think they will announce until TSW's release has come and gone, later this month (at minimum). They will have another BWE and see if their numbers (percentages) are down while TSW is 'open' and offer a release date (imo) end of July at the earliest. |

Originally posted by Digna Keep in mind that if they wayt to long with the release, there will be an outrage on the web, because people will feel that their money has been stolen if there is like 6 months between pre purchase and release.
This might hurt the GW2 general opnion. To me personally it would feel as unjust to have much more then 3 or 4 months between a prepurchase and the release date. If they do that, they should have called it a fundraising, which would give people acces to BWE and a discount on the actuall game. That would have been honest, but it might have severly damaged GW2's reputation. One thing is clear to me, if they wayt for much more, the prepurchase was needed to prevent Arenanet from going bancrupcy. Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) |

They won't wait a LONG time (measurements based on statistics) but they do figure some 'acceptable losses' into the equation when they are calculating a date.
If they have 300K pre-sales now, they expect to loose 5K to /ragequits and then gain 50% of those back when the game goes live and people sneak back in over the fence (as an example). |

Originally posted by Lord.Bachus I agree. Seriously, they've been teasing us for last 2 years with when it's ready. I think it's time for them to know when will it be ready. All mechanics of the game are done, just need polishing and bug fixing. Nothing major will be added to the game that might delay release significally. Gw2 has reached a point where people won't tolerate darkness anymore. |
