Well I wasn't thinking conspiracy, more like planned. The point is this is the GW1 Engine modified and 2012. Who today makes a game that doesn't heavily rely on the CPU cores and the GPU? It's as if they are purposefully holding the game back. Perhaps if it was a brand new enging in beta, ok. But GW1 engine that ran damn near perfect day one beta way back when with cpu and gpu? This is fishy. |

This game was never going to live up to the hype surrounding it. Truth is many members on here and elsewhere are hyping it up to be better than the second coming of Jesus... while I haven't played it, from people's opinions on here, I'd login and expect to be blown away in the same way WoW did initially. I haven't played the game yet and refuse to pre-purchase something without a defined release date however I'm not actually naive enough to think for a second it's going to live up to the ridiculous level of hype surrounding it.

I'm just gonna say this quick since I'll be back in game soon. To those say the combat is like WoW: Yeah, at first glance, it does feel really like WoW, but if you actually pay attention you'll notice that the attack animations have to actually connect to the enemy model(or hitboxes, to be exact) to do damage, instead of completely relying on RNG, like WoW. K, I'll be back in game, soon the game's everything I've expected. 60$ is an awesome bargain. |

People dissapointed themselves by hyping it up to be something that its not. If you didn't enjoy the game do everyone a favor GTFO. Thanks :) |

Originally posted by Aroich1 Did you ever leave the starting area or did you just run immediately to the forums to say hooooow dissappointed you are about the closed beta of a unreleased product? I was in city of heroes since its first closed beta and gw2 is definately not like it. The starting areas are having repeateable events so all "newbies" can do them, it was said for years now left and right. The graphics are great and match the graphics of GW1 in style so you are contradicting yourself when you say you are "the biggest fan of gw1", yet you are saying the graphics are "cartoonish" in gw2. Did you even bothered to check your options and adjust the graphics quality? It goes very high you know? The art style was shown to us the whole time aswell and it is exactly as it was shown to us so if you had informed yourself by watching gameplay videos of players (not only the skill videos from ANet you obviously watched), you would had known how the gameplay is already. If you didn't liked the game because it's not easy at some parts and dodge can't be spammed (I know I ended up dead several times already), then say so. Blaming the game instead is a bad move on your part. |

It's you who should give up. You're really transparent in these "comments" of yours. Think whatever you like. I have no investment in your emotional outbursts. lol

Hmm, I still don't see anything wrong with the actual game. What I DO see, are people that were waiting to say I told you so, saying I told you so, even though the response has been positive (aside from login issues). Let's face it, they would be saying it was a bad game even if it were getting good press from the media............ oh wait, it is. Haters should reevaluate their priorities and start to have some fun, or they'll just be waiting for the next MMO to tear down, and that's a sad state of affairs. no GW2 won't kill WoW, but it's time to move on and quit worrying about those people still playing it. - eyelolled |

The truth is, all the hate is because they are lost! They dont know what to do, they are so used to having thier hand held, and being led down a path, and so they are pissed, thinking the game is lacking direction, when really its them. It kinda reminded me of EVE when I first played, I was like..... "what do I do now?!" Ive been seeing it all day today and yesterday, people standing around in game asking, wheres the quests....LOL! These kinds of players are looking for that CLEAR path to pwnage, they want to know exactly what the best gear is, how to get it, so they have some direction. All I can say to those players is........ GOODBYE !! |

Originally posted by Eir_S It's hard to tell from my keyboard perspective what each persons motives are, so I ignore that. Does what they say hold water or not? If it does to a reasonable extent, then they have credit if their view is positive or negative, whatever. For me I'm more then ok with praising and bashing, no silly game is above that and perhaps the genre should get it's fair share of lumps, many keep making the same game. |

A lot of spin control going on these days. I guess when you spend so much time on other forums trumping this game up to be the messiah, while talking down about every other game on the market, you need to convince yourself that you haven't been doing it all in vain. My favrorite part of this is the "just a beta" excuse. Sorry, but I don't recall any recent games failing a stress test this miserably, particularly for a game that's been beta tested for quite a while now already. Stress tests shouldn't be this bad. So far, this game is making SWTOR and its shitty hero engine look like well-oiled machine in terms of optimization, since they didn't have anywhere near the issues that GW2 has had.

Adal - TBH this game may be the most casual friendly game of all time and to call it hardcore and to hard for people is laughable. 1. Instant travel to anywhere from min map check 2. No real raids check 3. No real gear check 4 no dungeon until 20? Look I played the game and wont buy it purely because it does nothing new. |

Actually, WoW had the EXACT SAME PROBLEM AT LAUNCH. There were thousands of people who could not connect, I was one of them, it was some network issue. Much like what we are seeing with GW2. I was one of those people at WoW launch, and I kept crashing and getting network errors. I couldnt play the game for a month, waiting for them to fix it. So basically, you are completly wrong, and inexperienced when it comes to MMOs. |

See what I mean, look at the BS you guys are spewing. I NEVER said it was hardcore. I said it was NOT linear. Many players want GW2 for the very reasons you stated, we dont want raids, we dont want gear grinds. Go back to WoW, we wont miss you. |

I pre-purchased the game and im glad i did, but the game does take so time getting used to it really doesn't play like other mmo's. the atmosphere in the world is very immersive and the fast paced combat takes alot to get the hang of, but it really lets skilled players excell, you cant just mash the buttons and hope for success, you really have to use all that your class has to be successful in pvp. pve is fun, an npc will come up to you and say they need help and then you'll find your self in the middle of one of many dynamic events. you can actually do quests just be listening to npc talk, i heard two npc talkiing about some guy they were after, one said he escaped down the sewers to the other, so i went down the sewer and there he was. felt a bit like skyrim listening to gossip.
